A PV in which she is not the centre!
Seriously, what. the. hell?
I'm sorry but... huh, what, why? WHEN, HOW, WHO?
Whilst I am all for boosting other members in a group (it worked in Mayuyu's twintail PV where she promoted Nogizaka46 and made them look a little bit interesting) and promoting people, I don't really think it's appropriate to shaft the soloist in favour of someone else. HELL, the girl is even put to the back in one of the single covers, her solo single and she is in the back. THE HELL?
Okay, I get it - she had a scandal, she made a mistake and she has to make up for it, but honestly, this? This is just plain bitchy in my eyes! Not only does she have the fans on her back now, some hating her, few still supporting her, she also has to deal with becoming a leader figure to HKT as well as dealing with the fact that all she had is gone. And now this. She is being shafted in her own solo single, and that is just plain fucking horrible, in my eyes.
It isn't just in the PV preview, hell, it's even in the live performance, and you can bet that the focus is on the girl, Kawaei Rina. Now, nothing against the girl herself - I'm happy that some random AKB members are actually being shown off, but seriously, THIS IS SASSHI'S SINGLE! Or haven't I said that enough yet?
Maybe I am butt hurt, or maybe I am just plain old pissed off, but seriously, this is not even fair! Even Rino doesn't seem happy about this turn of events, well, at least that's what her face tells me at the end of the live performance. It's just... it's unjust I think.
Rino has had her fall from grace, and sadly, they are still punishing her for it. Honestly... I actually wish that she didn't get a solo single now, because it's just horrible seeing her being treated like she is now nothing.
And from comments on youtube - it's pretty apparent that the girls in the video are indeed to boost sales, but it's still horrible. If they do just so happen to bring out a Sasshi centre version, by the way, yay and all, but still... the live version proves otherwise.
This is a pissed off Chiima, who knows this is her opinion and that people may not agree with me, and even take a dig at me and say I am in the wrong or something, but honestly... I feel really unhappy about this, and I am not pissed off with the girls - it's management.
I feel bad for Sasshi, and this PV/dance just proves that management are still going to be dicks about everything and even take away her spotlight in her own PV.
I spent forever reading the first couple of paragraphs of this hoping that I was reading it wrong... surely, not in her own single, that just wouldn't be logical...

This is seriously just unfair and ridiculous. You couldn't even see her face through most of the performance.
I could understand her being in the back in regular HKT singles, but her solo single?

Outrageous. Who's idea was this? Seriously... ugh, I could rant forever.
I am really sad about it, still m, but my sister went ahead and explained that this might be a tatic by the managers to show how Sasshi was 'shafted' by her fans, and the PV is to show that.

Yeah, I could understand that in the PV... thinking about it now it's pretty artistic, even if it does still irritate me. But the live performances, too? I mean, the point of her performing is to promote HER and HER single, right?

ReplyDeleteBut you wouldn't even think Sasshi was IN this song; I could see her two? Maybe three times? It's even worse than Zukki's position in Momusu! And their dancing is horrible, it's like their moving in slow motion! AKB's dancing isn't exactly Perfume-level complicated but at least they put energy into their moves! Poor Sasshi. It's one thing to be upstaged by someone like Takahashi Minami but these girls? And on her own single? There's one part in the PV where the newbs are all pillow-fighting and blocking Sasshi while she's sitting miserably in a chair. I think that sums up her role quite accurately in this PV! On the up side, at least she still gets to be in AKB48 singles from the looks of it, so there's a bit of silver lining.
I think, whilst I like Sore demo Suki dayo, that anything is better than that sugar filled song XD
DeleteYeah, poor Sasshi, I really wondered what had happened to her! And that dance! URGH, as you said, slow motion. I hated how lazy and slow the dance seemed, it was like there was no effort put into it :(

I can see where you are coming from, and my sister actually said the same thing when I revealed the short PV to her. She said maybe management wanted to create the look that Sasshi is feeling rejected by her fans after her scandal. If that is the case, then my mind is changed a little, but I still don't like it.
ReplyDeletePersonally I don't find this unfair at all, this is obviously her punishment for her scandal, I mean of course I don't like how they call it sasshi's single then put these girls in. I'd rather they just name it a complete new unit and everyone wouldnbe happy, Nagisa no Cherry 2.0
ReplyDeleteIf they were made as a sub unit I wouldn't mind, but I think that she has been punished enough already. Then again, I know that we all differ in opinions so if you think this isn't unfair then okay. I may be too soft and all, y'never know x3
DeleteI love Sasshi and I feel really bad for her considering I think the scandal was a non issue but this thing (taking the focus off her in her own single) is the first punishment I've really seen her get.
ReplyDeleteIf the management are gonna say that Sasshi was being punished the move HKT was really enough when other girls got fired for much less and I think the fact that they are doing this is to try and placate the fans that were baying for blood.
(also I think this whole single was planned before the single I don't think they had planed to add the extra girls until they relised they still had to go though with the release.)
Hopefully this will be the end of it though since that HeyHeyHey camera work was just cruel.
I can see your point here that this is her first 'real' punishment, because she wasn't kicked out of the 48 franchise like other members... but I am still seeing it as unfair cos I am softy xD
DeleteYeah, it was pretty apparent that the single was already planned for the film, and I don't think they would pull out because it costs more money that bringing out a single.
I hope it's just cruel for the Hey Hey Hey thing XD if not, I will live with it.
I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that this Rena lead was only for one type of the single and Sasshi was center of the rest of the versions. But still unfair I guess.
