Okay! Musume Digest #68

Minna, Digest Dayo! Are you ready to Digest?

This week, in Digest News...

Morning Musume to release a 15th Anniversary Photobook! Natsuyaki Miyabi sprains her ankle! C-ute on the cover of Young Gangan! Juice=Juice are opening acts for C-ute! Up Up Girls and THE Possible to perform together! An ex-AKB48 member is married! Miyazaki Hayao on his retirement! YuiKaori PV Preview for their new album's title song, and more! Are you ready to Digest?

Once again, I left my Digest until the last minute, which is why it is so late on being released (laughs), so my apologies to everyone who was waiting for the post, gomen gomen! I have been lazy, I know...

This week seems to have had a good amount of news, though surprisingly, Morning Musume does not have as much as I thought they would. Of course, we did have the glorious news that MoMusu have topped the Oricon and also surpassed their sales total since 2004 with 150,000+ singles sold for Wagamama/Ai no Joke, which is amazing! Also, we had some wonderful news today that Juice=Juice have sold around 23-24,000 copies of their major debut, Romance no Tochuu, today for first days sales! Congratulations, Juice=Juice!

In other news, I have got a new job. My older sister (I have three sisters, by the way, two older and one younger) will be leaving her job for a while, and I will be taking over from her until I go to University next year. I will basically be a shop assistant, which will be fun but sometimes boring, so please wish me luck everyone! I will now have money to spend on Idol goods, haha! XD Oh, and to save for University! :p

Anyway, now that we have said all that, please remember to use ctrl + f to navigate through the Digest easily! As always, here is the content guide to make it all easier for you! Have fun~

Video of the Week

Danso Revolution (Edit Version) by Fudanjuku

Last week I had a comment from an Anonymous poster asking why, for last weeks Digest, I had not used Fudanjuku's new MV for their latest single as the Video of the Week. I had already seen the video, however intended to wait for the full version of the video, not the edit version, before I posted it as either a review or video of the week. Also, I did not want to post this video because Renji is not here, as he is still recovering right now.

When I first watched Danso Revolution, I started crying because Renji was not there, but I know that he is there in the song and watching his fellow group mates perform. It is such a strong song, and it reminds of Renji a bit because of how fierce, loud and powerful it sounds, which is the look that Renji has in my opinion. It is a seriously cool song, and the beginning sounds rather vampy, like a vampire, you know? But it is so strong and different, it really shows off a powerful and cool side to Fudanjuku. It is amazing, isn't it? Hopefully, you will all see the power and fierceness in this PV!

Also, as a side note... Ryouma-chan, you are adorable even in this,a nd your solo line where you act girly as you run around with your hands sticking out... oh, you do make me giggle XD

Picture of the Week

"... I will touch her now, muehehe~"

... Something tells me to not fall asleep around Iikubo, or she may turn into Pedo-Sayu and touch me in my sleep... o-O

Comments:

Are you fucking kidding me? Momochi has those fucking pigtails in during a stageplay, with historical costumes and a historical setting (I believe), where hairspray and gel were not relevant. What the fresh fucking Hell?

... Wow, her pigtails seriously offend me.

"I was actually going to say it on 'Downtown DX', I wasn't able to appear on it..." - Kawasaki Nozomi (Tokyohive)

I am amazed that she was able to keep the secret from the public for so long to be honest, but it is good that she has found a man she loves and trusts to marry, and that she is happy. Congratulations, Nozomi-san!

All I can say is well done to AKB48 for getting their own TV show! Though I thought that they already had a TV show?

I am thinking about graduating AKB48 in order to prepare myself and make that dream come true." - Nakamata Shiori (Tokyohive)

Comments:

It is always sad to see another member from a group leave, but she seems to be determined to follow her dreams and pursue what she knows she loves, so please, do what you wish Shiori-san and work hard for it! Good luck!

Also... another one bites the dust. Damn!

It has been revealed that Team 4 will have an original song and music video on AKB48's new single, which will be released on October 30th. The song and music video will be available on the Type 4 edition of the single.

Misc News

On September 6th, world renowned animator Miyazaki Hayao held a press conference concerning his retirement. Here are a few of the comments he made during the conference;

Concerning the decision to retire, he said:

"I'm a person who has caused many uproars saying that I would quit, but this time, I'm serious."

"Since 'Ponyo', it's taken 5 years to make 'Kaze Tachinu'. It takes 5 years. If I start thinking about the next film, 5 years isn't enough. At this age, in 3 months, I will be 73. If it takes 7 years, I will be 80. While I would like to continue working for another 10 years, I think the days of my animation films have come to an end."

Regarding his future, Miyazaki commented with:

"I am free. As long as I can drive, I am thinking about going to the studio everyday. I feel there are still things to see while I am resting." He added, "I am thinking about doing things I've been wanting to from before. And that is not animation. I won't say it because it would be shameful if I am not able to do it."

Producer Suzuki Toshio, who was also present at the press conference, commented with:

"All things come to an end. I always thought it would be uncool to retire after a decline. Which is why this was decided when 'Kaze Tachinu' was being supported. In that case, I feel it was good.

He also commented on Studio Ghibli's up-coming feature film:

"We are eagerly producing the story of 'Kaguyahime no Monogatari' which will be released on November 23. We are also working on a movie to release next summer."

All translations are from Tokyohive.

Comments:

It is good to hear from Miyazaki-san about his retirement and plans. He knows what he wants to do, and I respect that he is retiring now, when he can, and not living his life through animation just because others wish for him to. Hopefully he will watch Studio Ghibli grow without him, and enjoy the new works that they create.

PV/Song Previews

The second teaser, starring PASSPO's youngest member Tamai Anna, for their up-coming single Growing Up, has been revealed! The short PV shows Anna visiting the places of her memories, so be sure to take a look and partake in Anna's journey!

Comments:

The audio preview for Shiina Pikarin's second single, titled Toroamachu, has been revealed! Be sure to check it out and listen to the sweetness of Pikarin's voice! Enjoy~

Comments:

Holy crap FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! GURL, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR SECOND SINGLE! WHERE HAS YOU BEEN? ;W; <3 <3 <3

And holy crap, this is adorable. I love it ;w;

The short music video for YuiKaori's new album title song, Jumpin' Bunny Flash!!, has been revealed, so be sure to check it out!

Comments:

The song is very underwhelming, something that I am not used to from this unit. I love them, but damn, this song is rather dull. The song seems to be made out to 'look' and 'sound' exciting, but when the vocals kick in it is rather bland, underwhelming and just poor. Don't get me wrong, it's cute, and the chorus is better when it starts up, but really... the main appeal of this is just how HOT Kaori has become o-o seriously... wow!

Press Release/Promotional Videos

JIJIPRESS, Oricon and MAiDiGi TV have uploaded videos from Morning Musume's Triple Oricon #1 Celebration event, so be sure to check them out!

Comments:

A great performance from the girls, as always, though I seem to have skipped through it to the point where I blanked out Riho, or missed her voice completely XD Oh my... I have learned to blank out her voice...

Oh wait, that's a good thing!

JIJIPRESS | Oricon | MAiDiGi TV

Oricon, JIJIPRESS and MAiDiGi TV have released footage from C-ute's concert at Budokan. Be sure to check them all out!

Comments:

I like that MAiDiGi TV's video started with scenes from Ikebukuro Sunshine City where the girls hoped for Budokan and where it was announced that they would be going to Budokan. It really made me happy and overwhelmed to see that as a fan of C-ute, and then to see the clips of them performing in Budokan. It must truly be a dream come true for them to have performed there in front of so many fans. C-ute, well done on such amazing performances, and for getting to Budokan!

Juice=Juice leave a comment for Kawaii Girl Japan, so be sure to check it out!

Comments:

Sadly, there are no subtitles... Kawaii Girl Japan, what happened to you? ;w; Also... HI KARIN'S OLD HAIR 8D

Comments:

I love the part where they show Zukkini doing an impression of an apple XD She is a weird girl... XD

A video clip of the Morning Musume members commenting on their Weekly No 1 has been uploaded to Youtube, so be sure to check it out!

Comments:

I have no idea what show this is from... that annoys me... XD

Morning Musume members Michishige Sayumi, Ikuta Erina, Iikubo Haruna, Ishida Ayumi and Oda Sakura appeared on Ameba Studio Live for a talk about their new single, so be sure to check it out!

There are five parts, all parts will be available in the source.

Comments:

... This is a pretty long talk show, and I don't understand Japanese... ;A; WHHHY? CURSE MY LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OF LANGUAGES D; However, I loved that Sakura sang, and Ayumi danced. AWESOME SAUCE <3 Also, Harunan demonstrates her manga love I think... think... ;A; I HEARD JOJO IN THERE~

Michishige Sayumi appears on the show Chocotto to promote Morning Musume's 54th single Wagamama Ki no Mama Ai no Joke/Ai no Gundan and answers questions. Be sure to watch!

Comments:

It's nice to see so much promotion, even after the single has released! It would have been nice to see a member other than Sayumi promoting the single solo, however. Sayumi is on TV enough...

Michishige Sayumi leaves a comment on Music Catch to promote the new single Wagamama Ki no Mama Ai no Joke/Ai no Gundan, so be sure to take a look!

Juice=Juice are featured on Witch,  Facebook-based webshow by HBC. Be sure to take a look!

Comments:

It's nice to see Juice=Juice on a show, no matter how well known or small. I like that there was a bit of an interview portion, too. Yuka seemed so passionate and happy when talking about the group! <3 Peach-dayso... <3

Ishida Ayumi, Kudo Haruka and Oda Sakura are interviewed on the Miyagi Morning show, so be sure to check it out!

Comments:

It is really nice to see Haruka, Ayumi and Sakura promoting the single without the others around them. I feel like, sometimes, Haruka and Sakura don't get the time to shine in interviews or promotions if Riho or Sayumi are there. Also, Ayumi is surprisingly professional when promoting and talking about the single!

That said, Sakura needs to be less quiet and bring more enthusiasm to her voice when promoting. Ayumi, however, has this hardcore seriousness when promoting! It's enthralling! XD

Here is Morning Musume's Mezamashi Live performance of Wagamama Ki no Mama Ai no Gundan, as well as comments from the members. Be sure to check it out!

Comments:

This is only part of the performance, but it is nice to hear everyone's comments. It is certainly a highlight to see Masaki basically make fun of Eripon... I think she does XD

Also, Zukkini and Fukuchan ;w; <3

Here is the full performance of Wagamama Ki no Mama Ai no Joke by Morning Musume during the Mezamashi Live, so be sure to check it out and see their hardcore performance!

Comments:

I do wish that they would all sing live, and let the fans be at mercy to all of their voices, rather than just let fans suffer the wrath of Riho... though she is surprisingly okay here!!!!

Youtube

Here is Morning Musume's performance of Ai no Gundan for Mezamashi Live. Be sure to check it out!

Comments:

A pretty damn awesome performance from Morning Musume, but they really need to let everyone sing if they are going to let Sayu, Ayumi and Riho sing live.

    1. Guess what? I don't read Japanese. How am I supposed to know?

Also, I had an inkling she would have guests. Who cares? It's nice to actually see that interaction. Also, it's not a *SHARED* event like Mizuki and Gaki had to have, so I still class it as SOLO.

  3. Thanks for another massive digest update. Boy am I fuu-ulll. Oh and, um, I think the picture of the week got switcherooed or something? Either that or I'm dumb and don't get it, which is more likely the case.
