Okay! Musume Digest #83 Day of the Digest, 2013 FINAL!

Minna, Digest Day... OH! It's the Final Digest of 2013! What will this past week bring us?

This week, in Idol News...

Morning Musume release a new PV! A CM for the up-coming H!P Countdown Live! Ai-butt to get married on Day of the Valentine! AKB's 5th Album title and cover has been revealed! An AKB member to release a book! Up Up Girls to cover Disney! Sexy Zone to release their second album! Oha Girl Chu! Chu! Chu! to release their first and final album! Umeda Erika CM for her debut solo album! AND MORE!!! Are you ready to Digest until the New Year?

It's here, finally, the Final Digest of the year! It's a tad late (er, very late, Chii) because I have been procrastinating the days away. I really did not feel any desire to write at all for Christmas or Boxing Day (it is the 27th here now xD) because I had just written a lot over the past week... so I got a bit lazy, and just stopped for these two days, other than that Merry Christmas post which I wanted to write regardless of how lazy I decided to be!

So, that said, I hope your Christmas and week gone by have been relaxing and enjoyable. If it was not relaxing, then most likely you were stressing over last-minute gifts, like me xD But other thn Christmas, I do hope that the week was good, and filled with Idols and happiness.

... And now that Christmas is over and done with, and my 12 Days of Idols, I kind of need to kick-start myself into gear with the up-coming last few days leading to the New Year, which can only mean New Year posts. To say that I am in no way ready is one gigantic, very noticeable understatement. It doesn't feel like the end of the year, and I have nothing prepared. Oh, Good Lord.

You would think, as a blogger, I would be more organised... well let me tell you, Chiima is not organised. EVER. Actually, this is the most un-organised I have ever been. I just sort of... threw myself off balance, and it's worrying me a bit.

Anyway, that all said and done, I will let you get on with the Digest! Please enjoy the last one of the year, and in the next one, I will see you in 2014! For now though, enjoy the last few dregs of 2013, okay?

As always, be sure to use ctrl + f for easier access to the topics you want! ENJOY!!! <3

Sound of the Week

Itoshikute BALLOON by Houkago Princess 4ki

Another sound of the week, rather than a video. But honestly, if this had a video, it would still be featured for the weeks post because, gosh darnit, this song is pretty awesome! Like a few of the newer HouPri songs, this one is catchy, upbeat, and it has bite to it. The Idol rap part is pretty awesome, but the whole instrumental in general is different to everything else I have ever heard from HouPri as a group up until now. It's... amazing, to put it simply, and the best song that this group has actually come out with so far.

Honestly, given that the name is pretty cutesy in its own way, I imagined a cute, bubblegum pop song about balloons, but instead it is this Anime-sounding, rather rock-like song with amazing vocals courtesy of HouPri's amazing 4ki, Kizuki Saori, Hayamizu Rin and Yamakawa Risa.

To say that I didn't expect this sort of sound would be an understatement, because it came as quite a shock when I heard just how good this song was. I am amazed that this piece of wonder has come out of HouPri.

Picture of the Week

Because you're WORTH it!!!

Good lord, she could endorse shampoo.

NEWS OF THE WEEK

The final Hello! Pro Station episode of the year 2013 is here, with this weeks episode hosted by Morning Musume/Sexy Zone's Kudo Marius! What will the final episode of the year deliver to us?

This week, on Hello! Pro Station...

Morning Musume's Egao no Kimi wa Taiyou sa Music Video has been revealed! WHAT!? The Hello! Pro Kenshuusei perform their latest song, Oheso no Kunikara Konnichiwa, at Ariake! Morning Musume perform A B C D E-cha Shitai at Kanazawa EIGHT HALL! C-ute perform Tokai no Hitori Gurashi in Hawaii! A practice clip from Hello!Station Dance Club!? FINALLY!!! And an interview about Juice=Juice with Chisato and Akari! Will you enjoy this weeks episode?

Comments:

... The PV that fans have been awaiting impatiently, though I think everyone wanted What is LOVE? more than anything, especially since that song has been out the longest from the latest single. But whatever, it's here, and we have already had the great divide with this song and video xD A lot of people love (the video) to hate (the song) this release, it seems. FUN TIMES!!!

A rather stellar performance of A B C D E-cha Shitai from Morning Musume there, Riho is seriously getting better when performing live, or she's just gotten better at singing. Who knows? But honestly, I thought that it was a strong live performance, especially from Riho. She has gotten seriously impressive this year!

... Okay, I love the Hawaii Tokaino Hitori Gurashi with the fans in the back in Hawaii. It makes the performance a lot better and a lot more friendly, if you ask me. It just looks like a group x fan effort, and seems like Management is truly trying to include fans in more H!P things now. It's sweet, I think! <3

Oh great, interviews. That I don't understand. I love a good interview, but please H!P, stop being lazy asses and get to subtitling these things, rather than cocking up the PV's with your Engrish. K THANKS BYE!!!

... All in all, a nice performance episode I think! It was nice to finally see something the H!S Dance group, too! WHOOP WHOOP!

Berryz Kobou

The title for Berryz Kobo's 2014 Spring Concert Tour has been revealed to be Berryz Kobo 10th Anniversary of Debut Concert Tour 2014 Haru - Real Berryz Kobo-.

C-ute

It has been revealed that C-ute will release their Alo!-Hello 3 on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 12th 2014.

Comments:

Is this a fight between C-ute and Riho on March 12th, to see who is the most popular in DVD sales? Admittedly, all of C-ute in bikini's on a beach beats flat-chested Riho in a bikini on the beach. But that's just me.

AKB48

On December 21st, it was revealed that AKB48's 5th album would be titled Tsugi no Ashiato. The group also revealed the jacket cover of the album, which is a simple and beautiful image of the girls in boats on the beautiful waters.

The albums catch-phrase is "Our footprints are ahead of us" nd there will be four types of the album available; Type A, which will include, 2 CD's and 1 DVD a Regular Type A which will include 2 CD's, Type B which will include 2 CD's, and a Theatre Edition, which will come with one CD.

Comments:

I really love the image, it is so clear and pretty, though it reminds me of the tone and image of Morning Musume's Updated Morning Musume.

Still, gorgeous!

Tokyohive | Tokyo Girls' Update | J-Pop Idols

Team K member Uchida Mayumi will release her book Ienai Koigokoro on January 21st 2014, it has been revealed. She will be the first member of AKB48 to make her debut as an author.

The book will be a collection of short stories centred around Idols and romance.

Comments:

It's interesting that an Idol has become an author whilst still in the group. It's even more interesting that she writes about Idols and love, but I think that it is a great idea, it can truly get across the viewpoint of an Idols romantic feelings.

J-Pop Idols

On December 22nd, Team K member Sato Amina announced her graduation from the group. She has decided to pursue her dream to become a voice actress.

She has previously done voice acting for the AKB48 anime show, AKB0048, and has been a part of AKB48 since 2007, where she debuted as a Kenkyuusei member.

Currently, her graduation date is undecided.

Comments:

I have no clue who this girl is (she is so pretty though) but I do wish her luck in her graduation and future. I do hope that she is able to voice act, even if it is only for small parts. Given she has some experience already, she already has a head start. Here's to a bright future, Amina! I hope that you are able to land your job in being a seiyuu, and I wish you so much happiness.

Nogizaka46

It has been announced that Nogizaka46 will hold an independent live at Yokohama Arena on February 22nd, 2014. This will be their second Anniversary live since the groups official CD debut on February 22nd, 2012.

To celebrate the anniversary, the group will sing all of the songs that they have released so far.

Comments:

Oh wow, it's been two years, huh? The first year, 2012, was shit, but after their first anniversary it really got better. Wow.

Misc Idols and Groups News

It has been announced that Sexy Zone will release their second album, which is currently untitled, on February 19th 2014!

Comments:

Holy crap, they barely release a thing in terms of singles, and then BOOM! And album for 2014! Will it actually have Marius and Sou in the group shots, or will they be dancing alongside the Juniors again? We shall see...

It has been revealed that 9nine will release their 16th single, titled With You/With Me, on March 12th. The single's title song has also been announced to be the new ending song for the TV anime Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, and will start as the theme from January 12th 2014.

There will be six different types of the single; Limited A, B, C and D, Regular Edition and  Limited Magi Edition.

Comments:

I have slowly stopped following 9nine's releases as of late, however I am pleased to hear that the group will be releasing their 16th single! It's amazing to know that 9nine are still going strong. Hopefully in 2014, I will take more interest in the girls and update myself with them more.

Tokyohive | Tokyo Girls' Update

The cuties of Metal, BABYMETAL, have announced that they will hold a 2-day live at Budokan, as well as announced the release of their first album.

The concert held at Nippon Budokan will run from March 1st until March 2nd 2014, and their first album, which is currently untitled, will be released on February 26th.

Comments:

I didn't expect this news, but it's amazing that BABYMETAL are able to go to Budokan! Also, I think their first album is far too long overdue (we shall all agree on this, I think!) so to hear of its announcement is amazing! Well done, girls!

Tokyohive | Tokyo Girls' Update

The Middle-school based announcer girl group, Otome Shinto, have announced their next single! On March 5th the group will release their single SAKURA COUNTDOWN, a song which will be about graduation with a sentimental and nostalgic melody.

Comments:

I did not expect a new single announcement from Otome Shinto, especially one about graduation! But holy cow, this will be interesting, given how eccentric, fast-paced and fun their songs usually are. If this is slow and soft... well, we'll have to see how I take it!

I look forward to this release from Otome Shinto, the screechy girl group I seem to love!

Tokyo Girls' Update | J-Pop Idols

The Idol trio Oha Girl Chu! Chu! Chu! will release their first and final album on February 4th. Currently, the album is untitled.

The girl group, who have released the most singles and first every Oha! Girl exclusive album, will graduate from Oha! Suta this coming March. The girls have been one of the longest running acts on the show since Oha! Girls were introduced, and have shown their amazing growth as performers through each of their singles.

The album will come in a Limited and Regular edition, and will include the title tracks of their singles, as well as new songs.

Comments:

To see the end of an amazing era of Oha! girls go is truly saddening. It seems like only yesterday when the girls debuted, and now they are going. They have truly been an amazing addition to Oha! Suta, and have left a legacy behind for future Oha! Girls to aim for. I don't think an Oha! group has been as ambitious or as successful as these girls have; they are amazing.

When they graduate, they will be truly missed.

Tokyo Girls' Update

On December 22nd, it was announced that SUPER☆GiRLS leader Yasaka Saori would graduate from the group in order to pursue her dream to become a Musical Actress. On the same day it was then announced that iDOL Street members Asakawa Nana and Uchimura Risa, both formerly of the group GEM, would debut as new members of SUPER☆GiRLS.

Yasaka Saori will graduate from the group on February 23rd. The new members will begin activities and join the group on the same day.
"I, Yasaka Saori, will graduate from SUPER☆GiRLS after our concert at Pacifico on February 23rd!"
"I apologize for the sudden announcement, but as before, I will continue to charge with full force toward my dream, so please support the Yasaka Saori who will take a step forward on a new path."
"I thought that the only way I could repay everyone, who have always supported my dream, was to go after my dream with all that I've got." - Yasaka Saori (Tokyohive Translation)
Comments:

It's shocking, it really is. When I think of SUPER☆GiRLS, I really don't think of graduations. If one girl leaves, I kind of think they will just disappear... but I guess because they have been around so long now, it's become like that for me when I think of them. It's still so surprising, I don't quite believe it...

Wow.

BiS Leader and creator Pour Lui has formed a new band , LUI FRONTiC Matsukuma JAPAN. The members include Pour Lui, Optimus Matsukuma, who is also the sound producer for BiS, Tempest Tekeuchi and Kohara just begun.

The group will release their first album JAPONiCA!! on February 19th, 2014.

Comments:

I can't help but raise my eyebrows at the name, but wow, Pour Lui likes to keep busy!

Tokyo Girls' Update

It has been revealed that former BiS member Terashim Yufu will make her official solo debut! Her solo single, which is currently untitled, will be released on February 26th.

The surprise announcement was made during Yufus self-planned event on December 23rd, and the song has been written by Denpagumi.inc's Yumemi Nemu.

The single will come in three editions; Limited Edition, Visual Edition and Regular Edition. The Limited Edition will come with a booklet, whilst the Visual Edition will come with a DVD.

Comments:

I am seriously surprised by this announcement, because I thought that Yufu was gone forever. This is so surprising! I look forward to, and dread, this single, because I liked Yufu in BiS, but to associate with Denpagumi.inc, who have songs I dislike and vocals that hurt my ears, it worries me... xD

We shall see, Yufu!

Tokyohive | Tokyo Girls' Update | J-Pop Idols

It has been revealed that Hey! Say! Jump! will release their 12th single, a Double A-side, on February 5th 2014! The single has been titled AinoArika/Aisureba Motto Happy Life.

The song AinoArika will be used as the theme song for the TBS Drama Dark System: Koi no Ohza Ketteisen which will premier on January 20th.

The song Aisureba Motto Happy Life was written and composed by Kawaura Msahiro, who composed the AKB48 song Ue Kar Mariko.

There will be four editions for the release; Limited Edition 1, Limited Edition 2, Limited Edition 3 and Regular Edition.

Comments:

I kind of worry for the second track, because whilst I adore Ue Kara Mariko, it is so generic and simple. I don't want H!S!J! singing and overused, dull tune that everyone has heard millions of times and are sick of...

It has been announced that the anime and card game Cardfight!!! Vanguard will be adapted into both a live-action and animated movie! Both films will be released in Fall 2014 as a double feature movie.

The original author, Ito Akira, commented on the announcement:
"While talking to Director Itagaki Shin and other staff members about ideas, [Itagaki] stated, 'the ideas for the films are overflowing as full as the whole TV series,' and so it seems that the film version will be quite the luxury work.  Please look forward to 'Cardfight!!
