Okay! Musume Digest #97

DISCLAIMER:
This Digest may not contain an Idol group that you like, or that you follow. If this post does not contain an Idol group you yourself actively follow, then my deepest apologies, but I cannot follow each and every Idol group on the planet. I am one person, and whilst I do post about groups that I like as well as groups that I barely even follow (read: BABYMETAL) that does not mean I will also actively look for news on the Idols you may follow. If I do not have the resources, I will not be able to post much or anything about them. Please respect this, as I don't have the time to go scouring across the internet for Idols that I know next to nothing about, or that I have little to no resources to. Again, I am ONE person; if I had a team behind me it would be a lot easier, however this is something that I do for me, in my own free time, because I want to. I could just as easily not do this, however I do it because I want to, and I find it fun. Thank you.

This week, on the late late LAAAAAAAAATE Digest...

Berryz Kobo to release their 35 single! The long-awaited photobook of Miaymoto Karin is to be released, so order your two or three copies! Kanazawa Tomoko to release her debut e-lineup DVD! New Squeaks added the Hello! Pro Kenshuusei! Kosuga Fuyuka has finished her training, NOOOOO!!! Kikka will finally release a new single! Takahashi Ai to star in a movie! Barely any '48 news! A boat-load of Misc News, including single release and MORE!!! Are you ready to Digest?
First Digest of the Month, and once again, I am late~ The ever reliable Chiima! XD Really though, I have no excuse this time because, well... I was procrastinantin' with my ice cream. Can ya blame me? Which brings up what I have tried to do for the past evening/night...

Currently, I'm trying to make #procrastinationicecream a thing on Twit-hurr and Inst-err-gramz, so make it happen! Don't let it die like Fetch did. We must make it happen!

OH YEAH! I'm on Instagram now. If you are bored or have the time to do it, please, add me and I will follows you back! @kellchii is the name I go by, and I guess I post whatever the fudgey sticks I want on it, including my evil face and cute pictures of other things in my daily life like Idols, my nephew, my niece... all of that sweet stuff!!!

Other than the Inst-err-gramz though, as you probably know I actually did another video (le gasp!) and also wrote a pic spam review on AKB48's new PV, which is actually surprising given how set I was on hating it. I didn't hate it (the shock!) though the song sucks. And has been stuck in my head. Which I hate. ARRRRGH!!!!

I also had loverly long Twit-hurr discussions with my Aimbaby on Twit-hurr, YAY!

ALSO!!! My nephew was born this week! May 1st, check your calendars! I did make a quick post about it, posted HERE because whilst I do Idol blog, I like to think we're close enough and all buddy-buddy to the point where I can sometimes divulge in my personal life to everyone and let you know what has happened to me. So there is that!

... And that is all I think! So for someone who has procrastinated HARD on her Digest, I actually did do other stuff to compensate for it. I apologise for the lateness, I really do. It's mean of me... but I hope you can forgive the Chiima of her sins?

So, as you're forgiving me, be sure to navigate your way through the Digest safely with the use of ctrl + f, the only way to get through something this long! Buy it NOW, for NOTHING! AMAZING!!!!

Sales-person Chii is amazing, I sell everything clearly

ARGH, MY FACE!

Video of the Week

Light Lag by DECO*27 feat. Topi

This has been one of my Jam songs this week, along with Sato no Akari's Aa, Subarashiki Hibi Yo, however I did want to steer away from the Hello! Project because it is rather nice to sometimes indulge in music that is of another group, unit or project. That said... surprisingly enough, this is a bit of Vocaloid (or synthesizer) music, but seriously it is beautiful and you should have a listen.

Like, I think I love this song. It's just so... nice. It's refreshing too, with a lot of emotion and power behind it and a brilliant story too I think. It's just a very lovely piece and I have really enjoyed it this past week or so, to the point where it may have taken over my life a little. It's fabulous, really it is!

I swear, when my sister introduces me to the Vocaloid songs she strongly recommends, I somehow really fall in love with them... remember my obsession with The Transient Apple Salesgirl? Yeah, that same obsession applies here. I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

And that is all that needs to be said regarding the perfection that is Light Lag, I think... or at least until I feel the need to talk about it again, if that happens.

Looking at a future without you is like looking at a sandwich without the bread.

Sayumi is the sandwich to my life. She holds me together...

CHAYUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Up-Front Fanclub News

Berryz Kobo

The DVD digest for Tsugunaga Momoko's birthday fanclub event has been uploaded, so be sure to check it out!

Comments:

Oh look, the Devil Hornz are back. URGH, EW, BLEH!!! Still though, she is a good singer and I like listening to her sing. It's just when I look at her in those hideous pigtails that I want to plunge a fork into my eyes and skewer said eyes out. URRRGH!

Other than that though, I quite like her.

Berryz Kobo announce their 35th single along with a preview via this video! Celebrating 10 years of Berryz Kobo, let's take a trip down memory lane with songs and performances, shall we?

The groups 35th single has officially been titled Futsuu Idol 10nen Yatterarenai desyo!? and is set for a June 4th release.

This single will be another Double A-side, with the second songs title still under-wraps.

Comments:

This makes me realise how good Berryz songs really are, which is what I believed beforehand anyway, but damn, visually I still find them a mess XD Also, wow, Miyabi couldn't sing as a kid. And neither could Risako. Oh wait, she still can't...

Surprisingly, Yurina could sing. Too bad she can't sing as well now XD

Aslo, dat preview of their new song! I actually quite like it.

C-ute

Suzuki Airi will release the accompanying DVD to her recent photobook, Kyomei, on June 25th.

Comments:

And we shall rejoice as she strips down for our perverted pleasures, YOSH!!!

CDJapan

The Event V covers for C-ute's Kokoro no Sakebi wo Uta ni Shitemita / Love Take It All have been revealed!

Comments:

Is it just me, or have UFP been really liking the tiles-inspired arrangement a bit lately? It could just be my imagination, of course~

Hello! Project News

It has been announced that C-ute will hold a concert at Nippon Budokan on September 10th this year, also known as C-ute day.

Comments:

Congrats to C-ute for securing another performance at Budokan, and on their special day, too! YAY :D

Natalie

S/mileage

The digest for S/mileage Mega Bank vol.6 has been revealed, so take a look if you wish!

Comments:

Jesus, can't Nyon learn to not sing in that infuriating baby voice? I like her natural voice, it's lovely to listen to, but when she tries to baby it up it gets annoying and screechy.

Also, Meimi looks adorable here. As always, Dawa screeches her lines. She's still lovely to look at though.

Juice=Juice

Miyamoto Karin's long-awaited solo photobook, titled Karin, has been announced! Set for a June 12th release date, the debut photobook will include shots of Karin in swimsuits, school uniform and yukata!

The photobook was shot in Okinawa.

Comments:

Finally! Something for the Karin fans to fap to without having to use their imagination.

BRING ON THE TISSUE!!!

Kanazawa Tomoko will release her first solo DVD under e-lineup, it has been revealed. It has been titled Greeting ~Kanazawa Tomoko~.

Comments:

And many wota rejoiced!!!

e-Lineup

A DVD Digest for Kanazawa Tomoko's solo DVD Greetings ~Kanazawa Tomoko~ has been uploaded, so check it out and enjoy!

Comments:

I want the editor to put a rock soundtrack over the video of one of these digests for shits and giggles. It would liven it up a bit, at least... AND OOOH, TOMOKO EATING ICE CREAM *^* I already want to buy this, even though I know I won't buy it XD

Gert damn, she be purdy *^*

Hello! Pro Kenshuusei

Hamaura Ayano will not be taking part in C-ute's May 11th concert due to conflicting schedules, it has been announced.

Comments:

SHE'S APPLYING FOR MORNING MUSUME!!! Was my initial thought, but applications close on May 11th, so who knows?

Maybe she's plotting how she will hypnotise Tsunku to put her in MM'14 that day. Who knows? OwO

Hello! Project News

Three fresh faces have been added to the Hello! Project Kenshuusei programme as of May 4th, and are the 21st generation of the Kenshuusei.

Up-Front Promotion News

THE Possible have revealed that they will be performing at Nakano Sun Plaza on November 16th this year!

Comments:

Congrats to the group for securing a performance there! I know that Nakano Sun Plaza is a pretty good platform for groups and can hold about 2,000 people, so congrats to THE Possible for grabbing a spot there to hold a live for all their fans! They deserve it!

Twitter

The movie is set to premier on September 20th.

Comments:

I was surprised to see the news about Ai-butt getting a movie role surprising, but I am seriously happy for her! Well done, Ai-butt, for landing a lead role!

Hopefully I get to watch the damn movie, because if it's all about unpopular stores in a big city, you can bet your buttocks it will include romance over fried chicken! Yummy!

Tokyo Girls Update

AKS News

JKT48

JKT48's first official Senbatsu election resulted in 16 members winning the Senbatsu spots, with regular centre Melody coming out on top! Jessica Veranda came in second place, whilst concurrent member of both AKB48 and JKT48 Nakagawa Haruka placed third!

Congrats to all of the girls who placed!

Comments:

My question is this; are they going to sing an original song? Doubtful, because apparently it's hard work to write even more new lyrics for yet another AKB48 sister group, yet we never see SKE, NMB or HKT singing the AKB single cast-offs. Seriously... I wish JKT and SNH would be given their own music, rather than 'covering' what AKB or the other groups have already sung. It's unfair to them, and I honestly think both those groups (especially JKT) have the potential to sing their own music and be successful with it mostly because they have the 48 tag on them, but whatever

PLEASE give them a damn original song, and maybe then I will find a reason to have interest in them other than cute PV's like Malu Malu Lollipop!

Misc Idols and Groups News

Idol groups who will be performing at Tokyo Idol Festival 2014 including members of Idoling!!!, Up Up Girls (Kakko Kari), Fudanjuku, Afilia Saga, Dream5, Doll☆Elements and other groups rehearse for the up-coming festival that is set to begin in August! Be sure to watch to see who is singing! Are there any groups you recognise and love there?

Comments:

Urrrgh, I want to goooooo so BAD!!!!!! Someone, please, stuff me in your suitcase and take me there! XD

Idol group Kurikamaki has now changed their name to Ayumikurikamaki now that Ayumi has officially joined the group! Her activities officially start on May 6th with her first live performance as a part of the group!

Comments:

Well, the name change to what it is now was rather obvious XD But still, I am sure many fans are looking forward to Ayumi's debut with the group and what she will bring!

J-Pop Idols | Tokyo Girls Update

Otome Shinto have announced the release of their first album! Titled Otome Shinto Dai Ichi Maku ~Hajimari no Uta~, this will be the first and last album featuring the members Arakawa Chika and Aoi Wakana, who will graduate from the group.

The album will contain 11 songs, and is set for release on June 25th. Please look forward to it!

The track list is available in the source!

Comments:

It's sad that the girls are leaving Otome Shinto, the group really won't be the same without them... still, I am happy that they are releasing an album with the girls whilst Aoi and Arakawa are still there.

I hope you have a lot of success with your first album, girls!

Johnny's Entertainment group A.B.C-Z will play the lead roles in TV Tokyo's up-coming late night drama, Mahou★Danshi Cherry's, which is set to premier on June 21st!

The members of the group take on the role of an action super-hero unit who use magic to protect the world. Each member will have a different power, and with the use of teamwork, they will defeat thieves, arsonists, slashers and more!

Fumika Shimizu will play as the lead heroine of the drama.

Comments:

You know what? I need to follow A.B.C-Z more, I kinda miss them. They were a rather interesting group...

Wait, I always say that about JE groups. Urgh, I need to follow them more ;A; THENNARY, BRAINWASH ME INTO LIKING THEM ALL DX

Sakai Hitomi of Idoling!!! has announced via her blog that she will be going on hiatus due to poor physical health after going to medical examinations and receiving treatment. She came to this decision after discussing with her doctor and manager.

Due to her sudden Hiatus announcement, she will miss Idoling!!! events, however she aims to recover quickly for her fans.

Comments

It's sad when Idols get sick, but it's a good thing that Sakai decided to take a break in order to recover, it was a wise and mature decision for her to make, even if it was a hard choice for her.

I hope you get well soon Sakai, and I am sure all of your fans will await your return to Idoling!!! patiently and greet you with open arms when you do come back!

It has been revealed that Yokoyama Rurika will release her new single, titled Shunkan Diamond, on June 18th. This will be the 4th solo single overall from the Idoling!!! member. There will be four editions available: Type A, Type B, Type C and the Regular Edition.

The coupling tracks will include a track titled One in a Million, which is said to be a rock song, and a third track titled Hajimete no Koi, which Rurika wrote the lyrics to.

Shunkan Diamond will be the ending theme for the anime Tenkai Knights, which airs on TV Tokyo.

Comments:

Hawt DAMN that is one gorgeous image of Rurika o-o I am now looking forward to this single, and hoping my opinion on her voice has slightly altered too... though honestly, even if I still don't care much for her voice, if the music is good, I DON'T CARE!!!

The title is also mighty promisin', too!

Techno trio Perfume have announced their nationwide tour and a new single, which is currently untitled, that is set for a Summer release!

The groups up-coming tour has been titled Perfume 5th Tour 2014: Gurun Gurun and will kick off on August 1st and 2nd at Hiroshima Green Arena, with a total of 14 performances in 7 locations.

The tour schedule is available in the source.

Comments:

It always feels like Perfume takes their time in announcing big things like this, and I know that some of their fans (Hey, Nia ;D) can get a bit impatient, but I am sure that now the fans are excited for what will come! Hopefully further details regarding the new single will be announced soon, because damn, I think Nia the fans are getting hungry for information! Where are those PV previews!?

(Top Row: CD Only Limited & Regular covers, Music Video edition Limited & Regular covers Bottom Row: Live edition Limited & Regular covers)

BiS have revealed that their last single has been titled FiNAL DANCE / nerve, which is set for release on May 28th. This is the groups final single before their disbandment this July.

The title song, FiNAL DANCE is an Idol-Rock number that expresses the feelings and emotions of the members before the group departs from their activities as BiS. The coupling track, nerve, is a cover of their own song from 2010.

There are three editions available to purchase; Regular edition, Music Video edition and Live edition, with each edition coming in either a Limited cover or Regular cover version. Both the Music Video and Live editions will contain a DVD.

*Thanks to Amampersanda for giving me original Limited cover for the CD only version! It helped me to find all of the covers!

Comments:

I'm still rather sad about BiS disbanding, even if I'm not the biggest fan of them. They are a different group, one who stood out and kind of made their voice known, so to see them go is sad... but they're leaving on a high note in a way; they are known now, and they've done a lot to get the groups name out there, and even if they weren't able to get to Budokan, they did make many memories with each other and meet so many fans who adored them for their weird and whacky way of showing themselves. Even as a casual listener, I was glad to have known about them.

FiNAL DANCE is such a nice song for them to leave on. I really like it, and I am happy that BiS were around to give us something new and a little bit weird to look at. I will miss them.

It has been revealed that Yamada Ryosuke of Hey! Say! JUMP will star in the drama Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo N (neo), which is set to air on NTV in July every Saturday from 9pm.

Based on the popular manga, this will mark the drama's first serial in 13 years after it ended in 2001, starring Arashi's Matsumoto Jun. Following in previous JE members' footsteps, Ryosuke will be the fourth member of the popular entertainment project to star in the seriesn after KinKi Kids member Domoto Tsuyoshi, KAT-TUN member Kamenashi Kazuya, and of course Matsumoto Jun of Arashi.

Kawaguchi Haruna (Ouran Highschool Host Club, Otto no Kanojo) will play as the heroine Nanase Miyuki, and fellow Hey! Say! JUMP member Arioki Daiki will play as Saki Ryuki in the drama serial.

Comments:

Okay, this looks cool. It also makes me feel excited for some reason. I don't know why XD

It's been like, forever since I last watched a Drama... I need to get back into them... ;A;

Totally irrelevant comments

Afilia Saga have (finally) announced the release of their latest single, MagicalExpressJourney, set to be released on July 23rd. This will be the groups first single released under their new label, Stand-Up Records.

The lyrics were written and made by by singer/songwriter/ voice actress Momoi Haruko, who joint-produces the group. She has explained that the song is a return to the original magic kingdom the group hails from.

Comments:

Hot damn. Those costumes.

Whoever was their designer, I LOVE YOU! SERIOUSLY!!!! HOT... DAMN!!!

Indie Idol group Candy Kiss will release their latest single, Love Romancer, on July 23rd it has been revealed! This will be the groups 4th single.

Only one edition is available to purchase.

Comments:

Oh gosh, I decided to look at their latest MV and wow, nostalgia road man. I remember how awkward their first MV was, but how awkwardly-cute it managed to be... yeah, that's what their newest MV is like too. It's all just so cute and awkward and filled with bad make-up! AHHH, THE MEMORIES!!!

I keep forgetting that Candy Kiss is actually made up of good dancers though, so the synchronised dance moves always catch me off-guard because typically, Idol groups from the indie scene are not that amazing at dancing in synch...

I must go on a Nostalgia binge now!!!

Hashimoto Kanna of Rev. from DVL stars  in the latest CM for the game Girlfriend Beta as the games new image character! Kanna is the first real Idol to feature in a CM for the game, which previously used the characters animated designs with the voice actresses voices for the commercials.

Do you want to see Hashimoto Kanna's animated design, or do you prefer her real life expressions? Be sure to watch the CM to find out how she expresses herself!

A Making-Of clip is also available via the source link.

Comments:

Kanna... Stahp... Kanna, you're making it hard for me to try and not care about you... >o> Kanna, STAHP IT NOW! KANNA, NOOOO ;O;

Miscellaneous News

The cast for the up-coming new series of Sailor Moon, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal, have been revealed, with the announcement that Tsukino Usagi/Sailor Moon's original voice actor Mitsuishi Kotono will reprise her role as the popular Sailor Scout. The other senshi have been cast with new voice actresses.

Mizuno Ami/Sailor Mercury will be voiced by Kanemoto Hisako, Hino Rei/Sailor Mars by Sato Rina, Kino Makoto/Sailor Jupiter by Koshimizu Ami and Aino Minaki/Sailor Venus will be voiced by Ito Shizuka.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal will air from July 5th on NicoNico Douga, which will be streamed worldwide.

Comments:

I am happy to see casting for the main characters out there now, however I wonder why they chose to just have the original voice actress for Sailor Moon reprise her role? I mean, it's not like she's any younger than the other voice actresses were from the original programme, so I find it a little unfair...

Unless it's for nostalgia purposes, which I'm pretty sure it is, then okay, whatever, but I find it strange that they only decided to reprise one voice actress rather than all of them, then completely re-cast everyone else.

It would make more sense to entirely re-cast the characters, and it would make it refreshing too I think.

That's just my thoughts on it all.

PV/Song Previews

Press Release/Promotional Videos

Footage from the news regarding Michishige Sayumi's graduation announcement has been uploaded, so check it out if you wish to.

Comments:

This cements what a lot of people don't wish to be true. ;_____;

TOKYO MX have revealed their own footage regarding the new of Michishige Sayumi's graduation, so have a look... if you are brave enough ;w;

Comments:

I find the shorter news reports a lot better to watch because it has less of that emotional impact in regards to how Sayu sounds when speaking, or what we see from the members as they cry. It's the full videos that kill me ;w;

JIJIPRESS have released over 8 minutes worth of footage from the concert performance in Yamaguchi prefecture, Sayumi Michishige's hometown, including her graduation announcement. Please take a look if you wish to.

Comments:

When I found out that Sayu chose to announce her graduation in her home town, I thought that was very sweet and personal of her. Of course Idols have done it before, because of the sentimentality they have for that prefecture and the memories of growing up there too, but I was relieved to know that Sayu chose her beloved home town to announce her graduation. It's sad, but it's nice too... so it is bitter-sweet.

Sayuuuu ;w;

MAiDiGi TV, Oricon and JIJIPRESS have revealed footage of S/mileage's Tower Records event, so be sure to have a look!

Comments:

Tacky costumes, tacky auto-tune that kills the performance quality (surprisingly enough) and tacky tacky choreography.

It's sad to see them this dolled up, because none of them exude maturity of sexyness. It just looks so awkward and forced... o-o BUT that is my opinion...

Final words: EW!

Oricon and MAiDiGi TV have uploaded footage from the press release event for the Morning Musume '14 x S/mileage musical, LILIUM, so please check it out!

Comments:

Let's just say that they all look hot and different to their usual natural, polished looks... except Ayumi and Mizuki, who look the same I think XD Still, I love have Zukkini, Haruka, Masaki and Sakura look! So vampy and dark, but also very gorgeous and, in a way, sexy in a mysterious way. It's quite enticing... XD

...

And that, for now, is all for this late Digest of the week! Also... Happy May to everyone, another month has passed us by. Ahhh, it feels so fast! But, let's hope that next weeks Digest does not come as fast (though it will!) because I don't want May to end! Actually, wait... I do. There are too many Birthdays this month! ARGH!

Well, until next time, we will have to wait for more news! I wonder what the Idol Gods will rain upon us in the form of news? Hopefully it's good news!!! NO MORE GRADUATIONS!!!

Until then... Ja ne!

Chiima~
