The Thing with Hello! Project... (and my waning interest in the company itself)

Okay, so recently I opened up an Ask.FM account for this blog and myself, so if people wanted to ask me a question, it's there to do so. I haven't done such a thing in a long while, so it would be intriguing to see what people have to say to me... though, it could also open up a can of worms, because whilst I may be charming and all that crap, I also have a few who dislike me heavily for the fact I bash some groups, and say what is on my mind. I don't own a filter, and for many, that is a big issue. So, yeah, this can be a double edged sword, but hey-ho, there we go!

Anyways, in regards to my Ask.FM account, I currently only have one question and answer, which goes as follows:
What do you think it would take to peak your interest in H!P again? Or do you think the thought is futile at this point?
I honestly don't think it's futile, because I'm pretty sure they'll bounce back again and peak my interest. However, as of late, their music (aside from that of CG and ANGERME) is a bit rehashed, and my interest in their sound has waned considerably because of it. I think if they finally changed their sound after so many years of what they've been producing, it'll interest me. That, or a new group that is consistent in producing quality sound like Country Girls, and one that won't become boring and stagnant after their first five releases.
Now, I really want to change this answer, because I've realised quite quickly that, when it comes to H!P and me voicing my dislike for them as well as my waning interest, people immediately think that I hate the music, and that I hate the PV's, which, actually, I do not. If 2016 is indicative of anything, Hello! Project has actually had a fabulous year, and I have liked a good chunk of the music they have put out. Some I don't like, granted, but that comes with anything you get in the music industry - you don't like everything thrown out there, no matter how much you want to. Music is subjective, as are music videos. Your opinions also happen to change over time, so what you might not like now, you could like in a few years.

Like, for example, Dot Bikini is a song I hated way back when, however I quite like it now. Same with Moonlight Night by Morning Musume; I really did not like that song, however now, I find it really great. This is how it goes sometimes, and for me it is no different. It's a 50/50 chance, always.

What I don't like about Hello! Project is the Management. What I don't like is the constant abuse of recycling songs and refusing to change up their leads. What I don't like is how they're slowing down their releases - for ALL groups - or how they only bother with pushing one or two groups and leaving the other so many floundering. The way they make it very clear that one group is getting better PV's than the others is also highly annoying to see, though sometimes their cheap ways are nice to look at, too, because they can get creative... if they want to.

There is also that issue where, as of late, Hello! Project really do not seem to push their members as personalities. This may be more to do with the fact I myself do not keep up with current affairs, or watch variety shows and TV specials, however, I very rarely see many members outside of Iikubo Haruna, Kudo Haruka and Ikuta Erina doing much outside of Hello! Project itself. Reasons why other groups prosper are because the agencies and companies allow their members to flourish on TV, and let them shine elsewhere, away from the stage and PV camera lens.

Even though I hardly watch variety shows, I know this can be an issue for a group when they don't do it, and it really is becoming a big one for H!P. There is only so much that can be done with concert MC's and weekly questionnaires, both of which I hardly look at, but really, that's my issue there.

So, when I say that I dislike Hello! Project, it honestly has nothing to do with the girls or the music they put out, but the management itself. The music and videos are 100% subjective to you, but the management these girls are under is, in my opinion, shocking, and that is what is pulling me away from them altogether. They are doing the bare-minimum, if that, and I honestly ignored it long enough, until finally that piece of string snapped in two, leaving me at this point.

So, to answer that Ask.FM question again; To get me interested in Hello! Project as a collective again, management would need to start caring. They would need to start pushing all their groups, showing off all the girls, and basically start showcasing the many talents that lie within Hello! Project, because Hell, it is there, you just need to look closely and pray they make use of such talent and personality, because when they don't, it's wasted, and when they do, it's highly overused to a point where the girls have just had enough - just look at what happened with Suzuki Kanon and Sayashi Riho.

And no, this does not just go for Hello! Project; all companies and units have their own issues. Heck, if I said CuteBlack - of which holds Houkago Princess - was perfect, I would be lying. It's just that in this time where Idols shine and stand out amid the crowd, everyone but Hello! Project is doing what they can to get their girls noticed, and that's... well, that is pretty devastating, if you ask me.

I want to say I hope that Hello! Project will turn around, that they will push other girls and start giving all groups a fair chance in single and video releases, but right now, I don't think that's ever going to be the case. Sure, they are currently pushing Makino Maria of Morning Musume to being a center, however that's been a clear promotion since Sayashi Riho graduated. So, I don't hold much faith, and for a long time I probably won't, because this is Hello! Project, and I just seem to feel disappointed by them time, and time, again.

If you want to ask me any questions or throw out a general inquiry, feel free to go to my Ask.FM and fire away. It'll be interesting to see what you have on your minds in regards to Idols, Blogging, or general stuff. Until I see you next time, though, take care, and live long and prosper!

Hark! Auditions are Nigh! Morning Musume '16 to Look for 'New Century' Members! ~Talk Time with Chiima~

-insert disgruntled mumbling here...-

Are. You. Fucking. KIDDING ME!?

It's only just the start of 2016, and already H!P are dashing my fucking hopes and dreams for the year!

Fuck you, you hope defying bastards ^3^

Turns out I have already forgotten my own predictions and hopes for the new year, because hey, guess what! I hoped and predicted this.
Fuck my life, one prediction has already come true!

Also, Happy New Year, guys! ;D Way to start the first couple of days, aye? xD

Honestly though, this prediction was kind of predictable, if you ask me. I mean, every year now since they started the 9th generation auditions, they have held a new audition to find fresh blood with complete dedication, with most of these auditions turning out new members (unless you count the one where no 12ki were added, whoops!), and of course, some new talent for the Hello! Hell Hounds to sell and throw money at.
It is how it goes, and yeah, I'm used to it now I guess, though that won't dampen my surprise at these kinds of announcements any time soon.

I mean, I woke up, saw the news, and made this face;

Because "are you fuckin' kidding me, bruh!?" is the correct away to react to this kind of announcement when I check my facebook first thing in the morning!

I will admit that, before I was actually reminded of the fact that I had hoped for and even predicted this audition in my End of Year Hopes, Dreams, Fears and Predictions post, I was actually quite pissed off, because I thought it was something I didn't want to happen. And in a way, I kind of don't want it to happen, because it feels unnecessary in a way. Sure, I get it, Hello! Project need to fill a gap they created for themselves when they shoved everything onto Riho at the beginning without giving her help from the others, but do they need another member to take that burden in the future? No, not really. They kind of have 12 other girls they could potentially allow to become Ace and Center now, without having to suffer the consequences they did with Riho.
As in, like, y'know, sharing out the lines and center positions for once. Like they did in the olden days.

Anyway, once I had remembered the fact that I had kind of hoped for this... well, I was still a little annoyed, but now I feel a lot more sound about it. As in, I'm okay with it, because it's H!P, and they will always hold these auditions, whether we like it or not.
Sure, it's way too soon to announce this kind of thing in my mind, but also, we have about half a year or longer before a new face or five million are announced, and about another half a year until we find out that some of the 13th gen rejects have been placed into another unit or made into a new one themselves.

Or worse; they go to AKB, or potentially HKT, and become the next Meru. One way or another, they're gonna go somewhere, whether they became a 13th generation member or not.

Picture 'borrowed' from natalie~

That said, what I do hope for this audition is this; that H!P realise the strength of the girls they currently have (subsequently leaving the auditions for another year, another day), or to see that they only need one member at most, because the group is already full of talent as is.
Seriously, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that H!P need to use what they already have, before they lose more of it like they did with Linlin.

I mean, I like the girls H!P has, I really do, but they neglect a lot of the talented ones in favour of the ones they want to push nowadays. I shouldn't compare things to the past, I know, but you have to admit that, with the golden era, there was a lot more fairness, not only in concerts but singles, too. You had the odd single that was pandering to certain girls, sure, but you still had a good amount of fairness that is less apparent these days. And really, up until the last two singles from MoMusu '15, it was still pretty much centered around Riho.

I just hope that, with Riho graduated now and the auditions going on, management tries to experiment at least a little bit with who they already have, and switch the centers once in a while, for the sake of diversity and figuring out who their next vocal lead will be. I mean, I am about 99.9% sure that the next vocal lead will be Masaki, however it will be nice to see H!P make an attempt at rotating their girls and seeing how it plays out.
I know it's nice to rely on one girl, but as we have seen, once that girl goes, you're kinda left in a muddle as to what to do next.

So yeah, I'm a little half and half on this one; I don't want it, but I kind of do, however I do also see why it is happening. I get it, this is how it works, so I'll get over it as quickly as I got annoyed by it.

And with that, I can now go on to dream about my personal preference for Center, even though I know it may, and possibly never will, happen...

Stay strong, Zukki! Both you and Eripon will stay the Centers of my heart!

Until next time everyone, I hope that you are all enjoying your new year so far, and that you are all happy, healthy and of course, loving them Idols!

Take care!
Chiima~

[Rambling] Nogizaka46 and the End of the World: But hey, they produced something Amazing... Finally!

On my hunt for news to update my Digest, I ran across Nogizaka46's 'short' PV for their next single, Kimi no Na wa Kibou. By short, I actually mean the full PV... the 'full' version is a 25 minute mini drama based on the song, much like most other 48' family orientated PV's nowadays. Thinking that this was simply a short MV that was two minutes or so long, I clicked it and prepared to bitch about it in my Digest. Turns out it's the full MV.

...

It also turns out that no, I can't bitch about this one. I can't do what I usually do and slander this excuse of a group, and I can't sit back and watch the hate fly in, because finally, when I am just about to throw in the towel... Nogizaka46 prove themselves to be strong frenemies and rivals to the 48' Kingdom.

No, wait, WHAT!? Hold the phone, as Nia would say, and back away for a second. Dafuq? Am I being serious?

One second, I need to check outside for a moment to see if the World has Ended and is burning as I type this...

No... No it isn't. So that can only mean that this is real. Whilst AKB48's songs get shitter, Nogizaka46 seem to be growing stronger. What, are they feeding off of AKB48's talent and draining it from them like leeches/vampire's/Temura Meimi's? Because seriosuly, their last single was okay, borderline impressing me, but this one is a whole other level... This one is just...

It's perfect. It's wonderful. It's freakin' beautiful beyond belief... and it's from Nogizaka40-freakin'-6! What the heck??? I'm still shocked...

I'm going to hate myself for this, you know, but by lord... I love it! It's so sweet, pure, pretty and wonderful! It's an amazing song, everything that AKB48's Sakura song should have been. This song is Idol perfection, it has a rich chorus, a strong sound, a beautiful composition... it is everything that I like in a song with a slow temp. It is basically perfection and spring personified.

But when did Nogizaka46 get this good and how? And why now!? Why why whhhy when I was ready to throw in the towel?

It's just... it's purely amazing, and I love it. I can't help but enjoy it so much, and I have hope for Nogizaka46 now.

And the PV... Oh my gosh it's actually good too... The sheer simplicity, the gentleness of it, the whole act of 'acting' and practising and working together... it just makes the song so much nicer.

... Okay guys, hold me. I might collapse... this is just so unreal it's... well, it's unbelievable. So hold me. Hold me until I can grip reality and allow myself to realise that hey... maybe Nogizaka46 are pretty damn decent...

Ah shit... I'm falling aren't I? And I bet some of you are cheering, too. Probably thinking 'FINALLY!!! FALL, CHII, FAAAALL!!!' and applauding this video for finally getting me to like Nogizaka46 a little bit...

Well, whatever you think... they finally produced something AWESOME and amazing! Finally, something that is not shitty.

Now, has the world ended yet?
