A Young Mermaid's Love Song - 'Seishun Mermaid' Single Review!

All thoughts written within this post are my own. That is how it will be, forever and always. Don't try and change my opinion, just because it does not meet yours, kay? That goes for any and everyone, not just me, Got eet!?

As the waves crash and storms rise, the rocks meet water and a ship begins to sail wildly through the treacherous waters, lured towards a bed carved of stone, as a Mermaid's woeful song rings through the night air as the dark Ocean becomes a Sailor's new home...

Released at the tail end of June, Houkago Princesses latest summer single, Seishun Mermaid, is sure to make a bit of a splash with the fans thanks to its catchy tune and melodic vocals, courtesy of resident Diva-voice Maika, Leader Odagiri Nana and soon-to-Graduate Miyashita Mayuka, who aspires to become a voice actress after leaving the group. Containing two new tracks, the single features two bittersweet love songs befitting of a Mermaid's one-sided love with a human, and her desire to walk alongside him, no matter what the cost may be.

As this single is based on what was my favourite childhood movie, as well as one of Hans Christian Anderson's most beloved fairy tales, you might have already gathered that I was READY FOR THIS. I've been waiting impatiently, wanting to hear the full audio in clear, beautiful studio quality after I watched the girls introduce the feature track on SHOWROOM LIVE. I was also waiting for the full MV to come out with much anticipation and impatience, of course, because IT IS HOUPRI, and right now, their videos get better with each release, so of course I wanted to see it!

It wasn't what I expected, however it still blew me away. So, yeah, I was happy to have finally seen it. And now, I have finally heard it all, crisp and clear, and I'm in love. I am so on love with this, because it's HouPri, because it's a story, and because it's feeding my childhood nostalgia and giving me life. So, that kinda means we're gonna talk about it, because it's what I do best, and because I have to share this absolute joy with you all!

Diving into the world of the sea, let's join these Mermaids of HouPri as they become human girls to follow their destiny! In an upbeat yet bittersweet song of love and desire, will these songstresses of the waves ever find what they are looking for, or will they simply become the foam of the sea?

This is a song of a Mermaid in love, and it is Houkago Princesses latest Fairy Tale rendition.

Updates In Life: Travelling I Go... Again.

Okay, so before I even think of heading off out that door into the big wide world, I want to keep y'all posted on a soon-to-be adventure, and let you know that I may have no internet whilst I am away, again.

From July 13th until the 25th of this very month, I will be jetting off to Poland, a location not so far from England, but still outside of my usual zone to warrant some form of discomfort. I'm excited, and I am nervous, to the point where sleep has been lacking and tears might have been shed. I'm still going, though, and heck yeah I am ready for it! (Even if I feel like I'm not).

So, yeah, I just wanted to make sure I updated everyone on this, and to let you know that, if you don't hear from me on comments (I'm slow on those, anyway), in posts (again, sloooow), on Facebook (I live there) or Twitter (partially live there), then it's because I'm away seeing a friend, and spending my time away learning about another culture, and finding new make-up to fawn over and foods to enjoy. Things like that.

In general, though, I might not be on the internet that much anyway because, y'know... new country to explore! Things to do and see, happiness and memories to create! Lots of exciting things and all that jazz~

I know I have some things I'd like to review, however with the current situation being that internet there will be scarce (where I am staying, that is), I won't get them reviewed, at least not yet. I might try and bash something out before I do leave tomorrow, however I still wanted to let everyone know that I will be gone, but that I will not forget you, or my Idols.

I love you all, and I hope you enjoy the next two weeks ahead of you. Love life, be happy and healthy, and of course, love your Idols! Take care everyone, and good day.

Much Love,
A Rushed Chiima~

The First Kiss, What A Sweet Sensation! Murakawa Rie's Debut Single, 'Sweet Sensation / Baby, My First Kiss' Single Review!

All thoughts and opinions expressed upon this blog are my own, completely and solely. Fear not, no other has felt the need to express their divine ideas here, simply I, so if one may feel so inclined to be offended, then simply do not feel inclined to read what may writ, unless it is that conflict you enjoy the most when reading one others publications. So, read at your own will, or turn away. It is a decision you may take upon yourself, fair reader.

... Am I high? Why the hell is my Disclaimer so eloquent, yet confusing? HA! Good thing the rest of the post won't be that way, am I right? XD

It's been a long while since I last reviewed a single, and by a long while, I mean since December of 2015. It's been half a year or more, people! I think it's time I talked songs, instead of news updates, music selections, and the like. Time to hit those AniSongs, Chiimaw! GO!

Through many random ventures on Youtube, I continuously find myself enamored by a variety of artists and groups, and thanks to my recent series, [Music Selection], I came across the newly debuted Anime Soloist, Murakawa Rie, a girl with a voice and sound so sweet, she is sure to give you diabetes upon trilling a tiny tune! Her debut single is also one of the most anticipated releases of 2016 for yours truly, as when I first heard the title track, Sweet Sensation, I kind of fell head over heels in love.

It's cute, it's bright, and it sure as heck gave me a cavity or five. What isn't there to enjoy, am I right!?

So, given how much I seemed to enjoy the song from the short PV released all the way back in March (with the actual single being released in June, of all months, which was actually cruel on my part, because I craaaaved this single!), I thought it right to review it here, on my blog, rather than somewhere else, because I've been waiting for this. It was an impatient wait, sure, but I waited all the same, and never forgot how much I enjoyed the short track from its MV preview, all those months ago.

So, without further ado, let's cut this chit chat, and take a chance to try out this sugary, sweet debut from Murakawa Rie, a girl filled with so much helium and delight, she can barely stay on the ground! Will the sensation you feel when hearing her new release be as sweet as I think she is? Let's listen and find out!

Release Date: June 1st, 2016

1. Sweet Sensation
2. Baby, My First Kiss

[PV Selection] June 2016

The fact I'm posting this so soon after the [Music Selection] piece for June 2016 is truly a blessing, because last month, May's came at the very end of June, which is not good. That said, I had no internet... so that's the excuse I'm rolling with. Yeeeeah!

As per the usual, [Music / PV Selection] is the current monthly segment I am doing in order to keep up to date with music and PV's from the months gone by. It allows me to watch videos and listen to songs from a variety of singers and groups, and to expand on my music taste, whilst also allowing me to create a mini-archive of sorts ready for the End of the Year, where I pit PV's and songs against one another, battling for 'The Favourite', if you will.

It's like the Hunger Games of the Idol world, except a lot less brutal, and a lot more specific to my tastes.

Right now we're going to look at the month of June, and see what videos have appealed to and stood out for me as a viewer. Will there be anything here to peak your intrigue, or will they just fall flat? Let's take a gander, and watch some Idols sing and dance! Ready... GO!!!

[Music Selection] June 2016

Once again we return to the [Monthly Selection], a series posted on my blog each and every month that talks about and shares the music I have just loved from the month(s) gone by. Now that we're successfully into July, it's time to take a look at what June has graced us all with, including one release that I have been impatiently awaiting, and one that I fell completely in love with upon first listen! I wonder what those songs will be, hm?

For the month of June that's just flown by, what Music will be shared here that you enjoyed, as well?

In regards to what is said and shown here, I just want y'all to know that these are my own personal picks, and that they are not here to reflect what others have enjoyed, or what you yourself might enjoy. The series itself is simply here to show what I liked, and to hopefully give you an idea of what you can look at and listen to, if you care to venture into soloists and artists you might not have known existed before. My picks will, of course, not meet the same standards as everyone else, as well have unique tastes in music, so if there is something here that you do not like, or there is a song you loved that I did not, then please, do not get offended; this is my list, and these are songs that suit my unique taste. Thank you.

If you have your own list, then please, share it with me and everyone else by commenting, or write one up on Facebook, Twitter, your own blog... anywhere! Share it, and expand people's music tastes with what you love!

And, if you want to find out what I enjoyed from June, then please read on, and enjoy! Hopefully you will go on to experience some of these singers yourself, and potentially find a new artist or group to love!

Now, let's listen to some music, and let's have fun! Bring on the playlist, Chii! HAAAAAH!!!

A Love Deeper than the Sea, More Passionate than Crashing Waves... Houkago Princesses 'Seishun Mermaid' Rises! (MV Review)

All thoughts and opinions written within this post are my own, solely and completely. If you feel offended by what I might say, then... well, why? Why feel offended? It is not like I'm threatening you with my opinions, right? It's my blog, so I can say whatever, as long as I don't cross a line. That is all.

Upon a rocky sea, a Mermaid came and saw a man, one she had saved from the stormy waves and had seduced with a voice so pure and beautiful. It was he she had fallen for, and to win her love's own heart, she traded that very voice he had fallen for, for a pair of legs, so that she might walk beside him, dance with him, and stand with him, and one day let him know that it was she who had saved and loved him dearly. One day...

From the depths of the sea they rise, bringing along with them one of their strongest compositions yet! Continuing their journey as the school girls who transform into Fairy Tale Princesses, Houkago Princess take on the form of the legendary sea maiden, The Little Mermaid, a figure in folklore known for both her beautiful voice, and her compassion towards a human that she dearly loved. So, when the song was created, I'm pretty sure there was no question as to who would lead it, because aside from Mayuka, there's only one other good singer in Houkago Princess, and that is, of course, the Diva-voice Maika.

The Little Mermaid is also Maika's favourite fairy tale, so for her, it's probably the biggest compliment and a dream come true to lead the song based on her favourite Princess from the depths of the ocean. That, and she totally has the voice and passion to lead this that the others do not (aside from Mayuka, that is). Also, for all those Maika fans out there... there is a lot of Maika in here, so you should be pleased.

And as a fair warning, there is also a lot of Odagiri Nana in here, and for a lot of people, there is no in-between with this girl; you either like her voice, or you hate it. So if your ears do happen to perish throughout this song because of her, then hey; at least I warned you!

Anywhoo, before I overwhelm you all with even more blabber, we're going to dive into HouPri's latest release, and find ourselves immersed in their latest release for the on-coming summer. From the depths of the ocean and the bottom of her heart, let's hear a Mermaid's song of love and heartache as she pines for her beloved, and searches the land which she had longed to walk along Once Upon A Time...

Are you ready to take the plunge?
