Have Some Beach Fun with SUPER☆GiRLS in 'PuriPuri♥SUMMER Kiss'!

It's the continuation of the Summer-PV storm that is about to hit our computer screens, and what better than to continue with a PV from a rather generic Idol unit with a very generic concept to it as well? Yes, my dears, I am talking about that generic Idol PV:

That's right... Bikini's.

You know that Summer is officially here when any other group that isn't a part of Troops48 breaks out the bikini's, starts to dance on the beach and give everyone a whole lot'a fanservice!

PuriPuri♥SUMMER Kiss is SUPER☆GiRLS summer single for 2012, and a direct contrast to Sea☆A's natural and cute Freindship Birthday ~Arashi no Yoru ni~ PV. This is every Wota's Summer-Idol dream come true... If you're male or take a fancy to girls, that is.

Then again, I'm not exactly surprised by this PV, because in all honesty, SUPER☆GiRLS reek of generic Idol-ness - but that's what I like about them, and also, they're fun - they may be your typical generic Idol, but you can't deny that no matter what, their PV's have a lot of personality and thought put into them, and that's why I like watching this group - they are fun, and they certainly bring more to the plate than some of the other Idol groups do coughAKBcough personality wise.

So let's break out the sunscreen, put on our sunnies and prepare our hands, because these Idols need oiling up, stat!

Girls only? Okay, good thing I'm of the Female variety too...

Okay, it's cute that they came out in the rings. It also took away frm the generic Bikini clad opening.

Absolutely adorable xD

Saori is gorgeous, your argument is invalid! Now shake that body, Saori!

Okay, whoever the heck she is, she's adorable, and her voice owns all. Thank goodness she gets the good lines!

Lol!

And so the fan-service begins...

AKA the stuff that matters, not just the Bikini's

Totally miss the watermelon, but it's okay, we'll crack open YOUR head!

You know, for fun!

Shake dat ASS!

Seriously... The amount of fan-service in this is absolutely unbelievable...

Saori is so mother fuckin' sexy, I... I just...

-dies-

Seriously, I thought that the video would be just filled with fanservice it is but then suddenly the absolute genius called absolute idiocy and fun stepped in and made the PV worth watching.

This looks like the perfect cover shot - Why is this shot not on a cover? Why!?

Okay, she's adorable...

Hula Hula Dansu~

Yes, move them hips Dimple-girl...

Okay... wow... LOL!!!! XD XD XD XD XD

Seriously, YES, this is what you do at a beach! Not dance around! You BURY EVERYONE!

Flawless, absolutely flawless <3

Oh no! She prefers Saori-sama over all of us! Hid in SHAME!!!

Peek-a-BOO!

Saori, you look god-damn sexy in Sunnies and a bikini whilst holding a gun. You also look totally bad-ass

Also, YAY, shaved ice eating contest!

Okay, this chick has to have the most boring voice out of everyone, her lines were just so bland compared to everyone else's.

Look at Dimples being all sexy with the flower thing. You sell it, girl!

Saori's getting drunk by the pool...

Girl: "Ahahahahahahahaha!"
Dimples: "ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH I'M GONNA F**KING KILL YOU!"

Saori + Ass = WIN

Also, yes, this is fanservice. Slap them butts!

Okay, lol, I loved this scene XD She looks like she's trying to NOT look guilty XD

Pigtails: "I... I didn't do it!" -noms more-

Again, winning voice here <3

Dimples is adorable, I also loved this scene dedicated to her and how boho she is.

Dimples: "Boho Chic, bitches!"

Seriously, those look really nice. I want.

... I also want Boho Dimples' headband.

Everyone wants a lil' bit of Saori, whether it's a hug or slapping dat ass!

Oh this is damn cute...

Until you look into the background and see purple-bikini acting like Obaa-san with her bad back. Then we lol.

How cute is she!? Such a wonderful smile!

She looks like she enjoys blowin'...

That there whistle xD

Perverts

And they still look adorable at the end, even after all the burying, brain freeze and drinking!

Okay, so let's be honest here - Bikini's aren't really everyone's cup of tea when it comes to Idols and Summer singles, and I know that some fans have been disappointed with SUPER☆GiRLS approach this time around with their Summer PV. I can totally understand that - as a girl who, whilst loving Idols, does not exactly care for full-on Bikini PV's, I do feel slightly disappointed - I get enough of that from Troops48, and it gets stale after a while, so seeing Idol groups that I like S/mileage wearing Bikini's and imitating the popular Idol groups does make me roll my eyes and wonder how they could have done it differently - but then I remind myself that not all of these groups imitate Troops48, and they add their own spin on their Summer PV.

Much like this one, actually.

Whilst Sea☆A delivered a beautiful and natural PV, showing us how they enjoy their summer as friends without being on the beach the whole time, SUPER☆GiRLS have delivered a full on Beach PV - but they don't leave it at just sunbathing, dancing in the sand and oiling each other up - nope. They actually issue other activities in the video, such as a shaved ice eating contest (which results in brain freeze, oh my) and some Watermelon bashing as well as other cute activities that you could easily do on the beach with your friends if you wanted to. So, whilst we do get that rather yawn-ful Bikini-clad video, we do get some cute and fun scenes thrown in there as well, which does make me think that both Sea☆A's and this PV have a little bit in common - activities that you could do during the summer, with your friends.

When I started to watch this, I had been told by my sister previously that this was a pretty boring PV, so I was actually waiting for something bland and boring - something that would be befitting of Troops48 and their generic PV's, something I would be expecting. I actually thought those things when the PV started, and I compared quite a few of the scenes to most AKB bikini PV's - but then the fun began, and I saw that, whilst this was a rather generic Idol Bikini PV, it was quite different to what Troops48 do all the time. The more I watched the PV, the more I enjoyed it.

I even found the fan-service to be charming in its own way, because I found myself seeing this PV as a sort of parody to other Idol PV's rather than a PV that was only showing off the girls as sex symbols. I enjoyed how they shook their butts before suddenly dancing humorously with bow legs, totally killing that fan-service feel to the PV and adding a humorous and charming aura. Even the scenes where the girls tapped their butts wasn't too bad, but I do think that's because it wasn't what they did throughout the entire PV. Yes, it was fan-service, but it wasn't like the girls were stripping off their school uniforms outside until they were down to their bikini's, or sharing a bathtub together...

Even the little kissing scenes, though rather reminiscent of a certain AKBIdoling!!! PV, was cute, and it tied in with the songs title as well. So whilst there is a lot of fan-service in this video, I don't mind it so much because how they present it is in a rather playful and somewhat tasteful way, and the girls are having fun with it too, and I found that to be a strong point to the PV. Even though the girls were in Bikini's, they were having fun and doing activities on the beach. Yes, we have a rather generic bikini PV, but I was so happy to see these girls doing summer activities and having fun with the song.

Speaking of PuriPuri♥SUMMER Kiss, it's cute! It's Idol-generic cute, to put it bluntly. Basically, it is your typical Idol summer song, filled with sugar and hyperactivity and cuteness, and it fits the video so perfectly - especially the chorus where they begin to act silly and shake their butts for our enjoyment. The song is just fun, and it has a lot of words in that we will recognise that references summer - Soda, SPF, New Bikini, 'Natsu Power' (Summer Power), Beach Party and probably more that I have forgotten to mention. It's cute, it's hyper and it's very summery and fun to listen to. It's been stuck on repeat all day for me, I enjoy it that much, and yes, it's just that catchy.

As Aim from Janakya Mottainai says, this is an Idol bikini PV done right. SUPER☆GiRLS are a group who, whilst extremely generic, know how to make a PV great and how to sell themselves to all of their fans without taking away the element of fun. This PV is so well done, and I have thoroughly enjoy watching it. Not everyone will take a liking to this, but I've found myself liking this video and song a great deal.

SUPER☆GiRLS seem to keep on reeling me back in for more, because they haven't been boring me since I started to notice them with their PV Everybody JUMP!. Let's just hope that they keep up with this winning streak they have going on!

Anywhoo, have a Saori picture. You know you want it:

What are your thoughts on this PV?

Chiima~

A refreshing Summer with Sea☆A's 'Friendship Birthday ~Arashi no Yoru ni~'

All opinions are my own and no one else's. Please respect my opinion, and I shall in return respect yours. Thank you~

It's that time of the year again, my lovelies. Summer. And with it being summer, it can only mean one thing for all Idol groups in general.

Summer PV's.

We've already had a good batch from Troops48 and the ever-so lacking S/mileage, but now a barrage of other Idol units will be bringing out their own summer singles. So, here I am, in my pyjama's sitting ever so comfortably with a bottle of Lucozade beside me, ready to start off the first of hopefully a few PV reviews of the on-coming Summer-Song storm that Idol groups seem to dive for. So, let's hit the beach and get ready for some beach fun!

... Well, kind of.

Okay, so first off, Sea☆A are back with their latest single, Friendship Birthday ~Arashi no Yoru ni~, a single which I have honestly wanted to listen to fully since it was first announced. Sadly, the video was nowehere to be found, and Lantis' youtube hasn't uploaded the full video as of yet, so, I was moping around and waiting, hoping that this video would come out. I like  Sea☆A, I really like them. I loved Dream Shooter, and Deli-Deli☆Delicious is my favourite single from these girls, so of course I am going to anticipate their third release. Thankfully the release was worth the wait, or I would be extremely butt-hurt right now.

The PV was something I half expected, but was surprised by too - I had seen the previews, of course I had, but I don't think that I expected the video to be the way it was all the way through. To put it simply, the entire video is based pretty much solely on the girls in a natural state. They hang out together, they take pictures, walk around the city and pretty much have a good time whilst they ignore the camera's. Though it isn't completely like this - we do get some rather generic Idol shots of the girls sitting alone and looking pretty, but other than that, we get the girls spending the day together and having fun. That's pretty much it.

These shots were probably my favourite, I loved how they put it into our perspective

But that doesn't mean that the video isn't good, because it is - I thoroughly enjoyed the video, and I was quite surprised by how much I did like it. I thought that it was very cute, I loved how it was edited and I enjoyed watching Sea☆A act just like good friends on a walk around a brand new city, going around the sights and eating together.

Natural smiles and beautiful wind blown hair as Valerie rides a bicycle and Beryl smiles for the camera
It was really nice to see these Idols in such a natural environment, with natural smiles and acting naturally, like there were no camera's at all bar the one that they had themselves. The video looked like we were watching a small group of girls on a day out, not a group of Idols who are choreographed or told how to act and look in the public eye. The natural state and the carefree feel of this PV made it extremely refreshing and really enjoyable to watch.

The song is incredibly beautiful, it makes me so happy when I listen to it - It has such a gentle and natural feeling to it, like the girls were really happy when they sang it. It's refreshing, like something I would listen to on a day where I just want to kick back and relax and do absolutely nothing. The song isn't up-beat or overly perky like most summer Idol songs - it's like that refreshing summer breeze on a really hot day, a breeze you openly welcome because you need it.

This song is actually about friendship, as the title suggests, and is about that special person beside you who you always want to see and spend your time with. This could also be a love song, but this story pretty much depicts the relationship between two characters for a game or anime that this song is actually for. The lyrics are really sweet, and very heart-felt and meaningful. I really enjoyed the lyrics and I like how this is a song that is about friendship, and not love.

I think that the girls of Sea☆A did a beautiful job with this video. The naturalness of the video and the beautiful song are both very refreshing and welcoming after so many cute and up-beat songs have come out. This video shows off the natural cuteness these girls have, and also shows off the beauty of the summer without the girls staying solely on the beach whilst dancing around in bikini's or skimpy clothing. This is a natural summer video with a very lovely natural summer song, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sea☆A are continuing to impress me with everything they do - their first two PV's were both wonderful, and with the addition of this song, I think that the group are just going to continue to get stronger. I love how this Idol group continue to go strong and sell themselves without having to rely on bikini's and beaches, and still showing their natural cuteness and refreshing faces. They are simply adorable, and I am so glad that they created a PV like this - simple, refreshing and very effective. There is no dance, no lip-synching scenes, just the girls having fun together and a few scenes where they pose and look to the sky. Nothing flashy - just that natural presence for a refreshing summer PV.

Unless another PV comes out and steals Sea☆A's thunder, I have a feeling that this will become my favourite Summer PV and song for 2012... That is unless 9nine's new song doesn't win my heart over like Friendship Birthday ~Arashi no Yoru ni~ has.

Please enjoy this gorgeous PV and experience the natural feeling of summer with this wonderful group~

Doom to My Ears - Yes, I don't Like This Song

IT BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURNS!!!

...

Yeah, I'm not digging it.

Ever since the live preview of One Two Three appeared, I've been on the fence with this song. But today I concluded, after listening to it again, that I really do not like it at all right now. However, because everyone has been going on the hype about this song, I've actually decided to keep my mouth shut and say nothing - hence why this post is a bit delayed.

I've actually been ignoring the song up until now, because I was honestly so disappointed with it when I listened to it the first time round. I didn't know what to think - I just really did not care for it at all, and it surprised me. The only other song that I dislike this much is the God-awful As For One Day, but I never thought that I would listen to another Morning Musume song that made me feel the same sense of great dislike...

But as I said, I've actually been pretty quiet about what I think about this song up until now. I actually admitted to my sister today that I don't like it, and she was quite surprised that I don't care for the song. I have a feeling that she's hoping that I change my mind when the PV comes out with a good quality version of the song...

In all honesty, I think it is down to the arrangement of the song. I don't think that I like electro-pop, and I certainly don't like how everyone is auto-tuned to high heavens. Okay, FINALLY they used auto-tune on Riho to make her sound half-decent, but she still sounds whiny. But why the entire song? It gets annoying, it gets too... same-ish. Having a random auto-tune attack in a song like Only You and Renai Hunter is fine, because it's a random attack - this is like full-blown Vocaloid, and I don't really like Vocaloid. Heck, I can't even sit through Perfume, because I don't like the amount of auto-tune used in the song!

Another thing that I will gladly gripe about with this song is that it seems like a Reina-Riho fest with a bit of Sayu on the side and a small sample of everyone else. Okay, we're all used to this - but I honestly did think that, after Risa's graduation, at least one more member would get pushed to the front, whoever it just so happens to be. But nah. Looks like we're getting the same old faces at the front.

I'm also not overly keen on this 'Hype' that's going on, either - Whilst I like reading everyone's thoughts on blogs, I actually hate reading facebook comments from fellow MoMusu fans - especially the girls who go over-the-top crazy with their comments, openly slandering anyone who doesn't care for the song - such as telling girls to 'shut the fuck up, this song's amazing.' or to fuck off because people genuinely don't like the song.

Oh, I'm being too bitchy and negative, so let's get onto a good point about this new single:

The dance.

It rocks, let' be bluntly honest. The same with those outfits (they look like playboy bunnies), the hair and the make-up - I like how it all looks sexy. The only problem is the song right now, though I might just have to wait till a good quality MP3 appears...

I was honestly, honestly hoping that the way I felt about this single was to do with all the hype - but it isn't. I really just can't grasp the 'greatness' of this song. It leaves me bored, and with a headache. It doesn't stick in my brain, and I hate how it is auto-tuned to the max. In total, this song is probably going to be one of the most hated Morning Musume songs out of any of the new ones that I have liked or disliked so far.

I won't get psyched about this single now - I said it before on Facebook, and I will say it again - I won't get psyched for this single until both PV's are out, or else I will become royally pissed off. If I get hyped up about it when I seriously don't like it, then I might just end up hating the Matenrou Show as well.

A final note to be shared: With Sayu as the Leader of Morning Musume now, it seems that Tsunku finds it befitting to auto-tune the fuck out of everyone else. Let's just say that this is the downside to Sayu's reign as a leader, because whilst we get sexy-as-Heck costumes, we have one horrible song to pair those clothes off with.

Looks like this new Era will be called 'Vocaloid-Era', because Lordy, who knows how many MoMusu's need auto-tune now other than our beloved Sayu?

You can now stick me in with the wonderful minority of people who 'HATUUUR' this song.

Oh fuck it reminds me of the horrific 'Suki da na Kimi ga'... Which is fine live.
