Idols, Writing and Cake: Six Years Today

Looking back in writing, on Idols and towards myself, it's amazing just how much change can go through someone and what they create in the span of six years. Looking back, I created my first post on here in 2010, with little intention of keeping it up. Looking back, I was surprised to reach a first anniversary once 2011 had rolled around, and even more surprised to open up my mind and blog to the possibilities of groups other than Hello! Project. Looking back, 2013 saw my third year anniversary, "That number, despite being so small, is actually so important", and I was amazed at the time and life I had put into something like this.

Looking back, just last year I celebrated five years with this blog and you wonderful readers, and I marveled at hitting the half-decade mark. Though the number itself is still small, five years holds so much significance; though a single number, it is still strong and capable, and you really feel you have poured so much into what you do by just seeing that number alone.

Now, looking forward, I see that I have given six years of my life, my love, my words to this blog, and I know for certain that I want to do this for another four years. Looking forward, I know that I desire to write down and share my passions. I aim to spend my time talking to all of you about what brings me joy and what makes me tick. I hope to share all that I adore and treasure, and reach out to you in any way I can, all so that we can experience this joyous time together as Idol fans.

Standing here and looking forward, I want to continue blogging whilst also looking back at the memories of how this blog came to be, the wonder of reaching one, three... five, six years here. I want to keep growing. I want to change for the better, to improve my writing and my knowledge, and to talk to all of you more through this medium.

On this day I celebrate Six Years in Writing on Idols, and on this day I have the sixth Cake. So far it has been a wonderful journey, and when Year 7 hits, I hope to see you there with your cake in hand, and your Idol music playing.

Thank you for reading this blog from the beginning, from the middle, or from here on out. I hope you enjoy your cake, and I hope you enjoy your Idols and music with brilliant smiles and energetic cries.

Okay! Musume Time...

[Updates in Life] Birthdays and Froyo and Doughnuts, Oh My!

24 years, and still no Zimmer Frame! Well, the fact I've been on this Earth so long is amazing in itself, and I've still not screwed up my life! Early days, though, early days...

And, because I'm oh-so modest and not that into myself, I thought it'd be nice to (once again) celebrate my bday just a little bit on my blog today because it's just something I like to do, plus it gives me some time to talk about anything big or small that's happening in my life, and to basically keep y'all updated on... well, anything that's happened that I think is nice to let you all know about!

Firstly... let's get that random bday selfie feat. Pikachu pillow and Eeyore plushie out the way, shall we!? I swear, every year, I wanna take a seflie because A) I am shameless, and B) I like to see if I've aged any since the last year, aha! Also, it's just nice to commemorate the day with a picture! Sadly, I don't have an updated image of me or my sister to share with everyone, however, just so ya know;

IT'S MA SISTERS BDAY, TOO! She's 23 (the age I was just yesterday, sniff!) and we have shared our birthdays for 23 years now! I'm not with her right now, as you can guess, what with me being in Uni Land and all, however I know she's having a splendid day today, so I'm happy for her! ^o^ She knows I love her, I know she loves me (I hope...), and I will see her soon-ish, anyways, so we can say Happy Barfday whenever I get back home next, and then ignore each other for the rest of the visit. You know, as siblings do! ;)

And, before I round off the Birthday portion of this post, I've had a pretty nice day thus far! I've not done much, honestly, because being an adult means my friends and even myself have things to do. For me, I've not started work (yet), so I've been free as a bird the past month, however my friends are all busy bees. So, today my time was spent with my wonderful roommate and best friend, Z, and we went for food, did some shopping for the flat we live in (ha!), and then I bought a bunch of notebooks, colourful pens, and a pikachu pillow! Ahhh, presents <3 Happy Birthday to Me... ha!

Z was so lovely and bought me a small teal (MA COLOUR! <3) notebook, nad some Krispy Kreme doughnuts! Om, nom, nom, nom...!!!

Basically, this is what I bought... the cards from family and friends though are my favourite <3 I don't need presents to be happy honestly, just so long as I have people around me, however when buying notebooks for myself, they're handy for things like University and dissertation, you know, the stuff that's important for a student... if you take University and / or college seriously, that is! :p

And, in regards to University...

I AM IN MY FINAL YEAR, OH MY DEAR LORD, LET THE BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS AND TURMOIL BEGIN!!!

... Yeah, that pretty much sums up what I'm heading into, because final year = final presentations / dissertations / final projects, and whilst I am certain I will adore my dissertation prep (of which I started in July, so, I'm a bit ahead XD), the rest of the essays I will have in-between that, plus Publication for Creative Writing and more... I can see this being a year of Hell and procrastination. Le, sigh.

Also, to do with Uni Land, but not exactly University... I have secured another job, meaning I will have some form of income this year. This will mostly go towards food / things I don't need / holidays I may want to plan, like... Belgium. And seeing friends in another part of England. And maybe Japan for 2017, and stuff I don't need. You know, the luxuries in life I am trying my best to get whilst I still can, before a job I might not like halts me from doing that too much... all the fun stuff! :D

I have yet to start said job, but I have a shift coming up this month, so yeah... let's get this ball rolling, and have a good 3rd year! Hopefully I won't stress too much, and hopefully I can juggle this blog, Selective Hearing, JaME world and Hashire! Idol Manic as I go! If not... well, I'm kinda screwed, aren't I?

Super Chiima... WHERE ARE YOU!? Come out from hiding, I need you this year, for sure! );

... And until next time, I want to bid you all adieu. It's time to love you and leave you, but now, take care, stay happy and healthy, live life to the fullest, and of course, LOVE YO IDOLS!!! Take care and peace out, guys!

Thank you for reading, always, and thank you for being here! <3

Much Love and Happiness,
Chiima <3

The 23rd Doughnut Cake Day! HAPPY BAASUDEI!!!! (Life Updates Included)

-Eats cheesecake as she writes this-

It's late here in England today, however it's still September 14th, so I think it's about time I updated my blog, and did my once-a-year Birthday post!

And no, this isn't for the blog itself, but for me, because I'm so into myself and feel the need to let y'all know that I am now -drum roll- 23 years old! Huzzah!?

Better yet, however, it isn't just my Birthday. Oh, no, I happen to share it with someone special, someone amazing, and someone who has been an Idol to us all...

My sister.

... Oh yeah, and some random chick named Takahashi Ai happens to share our bday, too, but who cares about that, am I right!? :p

No, seriously though, as many will already know, I share my birthday with my sister Kiko, who is younger than me by a year, marking her as a 22 year old now! My sister is my best friend, and ever since her birth, we have always been together and celebrated ageing with one another, whether the day itself was good or bad. Never have we been apart on our birthday, well, until today...

Being in University, I made the decision to leave earlier than anticipated to the City where I study this year in order to find a job and basically aid myself in paying for bills and necessities (read: food and HouPri CD's) and, for the first time in 22 years, I have experienced my Birthday without my best friend. I was sad, and I nearly did cry (I always cry), however it doesn't mean that the day I had was terrible, because it was far from it! Without my sister by my side, it felt like I was missing something, but I know we have to grow up and move on sometimes, even if it means we won't be around each other.

As a small surprise however, my brother and sister in question did turn up the day before to visit me, and as an extra surprise, they brought my niece with them! Though our time together was limited, it was amazing to be able to see two of my siblings again, my sister especially, since we couldn't share our birthday together, and also to see my niece whom I am missing a lot. When you're around a kid 24/7, you get lonely when you realise they aren't there any more...

Honestly though, despite not being with my family for the first time on such a day, I still did have a good time, and that's because I was with my friend, and also because I was able to talk to my mother and niece, and text my wonderful, beautiful sister!

My friend truly made the day wonderuful, because 1) She bought me lipstick, and y'all might know I like lipstick! Then 2) she also bought the best card ever that basically screams me, because ever since moving to my University City, I use 'eh' at the end of my sentences to mimic the dialect, either by accident or on purpose for the sake of it. Oh, and 3) SHE BOUGHT ME CHEESECAKE! I loooove cheesecake, and this is one of my favourites from a patisserie we sometimes visit, so I was rather chuffed with her when she told me she bought it!

Seriously, it made me happy, and later on in the day I bought Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and then she proceeded to sing 'Happy Birthday' to me as a candle flickered in the cake that she happened to steal from work XD

I love my friend, because she's amazing, and also because she wanted me to be happy on to not feel lonely on my Birthday, despite the fact that she was ill ):

Seriously though, she did make my day happy, and even though I had work afterwards, it's been a wonderful day all around, and whilst I am sad I didn't spend it with my sister, I know that this is a part of life, and a part of growing up. This is how things are sometimes, and I accept that.

Also, to everyone who has sent me Birthday wishes on Facebook and Twitter, I thank you all! It's really made me so cheerful to have you all say this to me, and to wish me a good day and more! And to those who think I look around 16~18, you're my best friends now ;) Just so ya know~

In news away from my Birthday, and something I never formally announced when it happened, last month in August I hit the 500,000 pageviews mark!!! That's a lot of views, like half of a million or something?

I cried when I saw it, but I gathered you already knew that.

Regarding this, I am elated, even after a month of knowing it happened. It's surreal, but it's wonderful, and it makes me so happy to know that people are actually looking at this blog! When I can, I want to try and thank everyone by doing something, but until I am financially stable, I cannot do it yet. And this is where more good news comes in...

I HAVE A JOB!!!

If you noted that I mentioned going to work above, then yeah, it's true, I now have a job! I've been working as a Waitress at a Restaurant for a week now and honestly, I really enjoy it. The people who work there are great, and the customers are just as lovely, too. It's a nice place, and whilst I don't have as much experience at waitressing as others, I am really excited to learn from everyone else, and to meet new faces every day!

Oh, and my co-workers sang Happy Birthday to me today too, but thankfully there was no one around at that point customer-wise to see, so haha!

... And that is all, I believe! It's been a hectic month so far, what with moving into my new shared house and looking for work, but it's been fun and worth it! I'm happy with where I am right now, and today I really felt that I was at my happiest since arriving back in my University city.

To everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday, watched a video of mine or read my blog, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You're all amazing, and also, I apologise for not updating more, but this is the truth: I have been busy!

Until next time my lovelies, I hope you all take care, love Idols, and live happily!

Much Love and Many Thanks,
Chiima~

Get Yo Cake On! Let the Cake Day Bizarre BEGIN!!!

Because every time this day of the year rolls around, I make a brand spankin' new BANNER! UMF, YEAH!!!

God damn, Sayu does make a glorious theme for a new banner, doesn't she? And what better way to celebrate today than with CAKE!? Like, seriously!!!

November 18th, my Blog's official Cake Day! You can also call it an Anniversary, Birthday, the day this blog came to life... anything you want, but to me it is officially a Cake Day and I am ready to celebrate it with all of you! Oh my gosh I have been waiting for this day so much, I'm just sitting here all like EEEEEP! Honestly, I am bouncing in my seat and typing like a lunatic, I'M THAT EXCITED! FEEL THE EXCITEMENT, PEOPLE! GYAAAAAAH!!!

I don't know what's gotten me so excited, aside from the fact that today, oh my gosh today, my Blog is 4 years old. FOUR YEARS OF AGE, PEOPLE! That's... wow, that's incredible and yeah, I'm ecstatic about this. I'm so happy, so overwhelmed! I don't think you have any idea how happy and hyper I am right now, and just so downright proud. I feel like a Mama bear who's cub successfully stole that pot of honey. Ma gosh!

Okay, so I know I haven't written as much as I could have this year due to my life becoming... well, a big thing. University has really swamped me, I'm now on the University newspaper as well, and I'm just trying to work my hardest to get good grades. But even with all this I don't forget my blog, my lovely 4 year old blog... it's still here for me, and to know that I have made it this far, even when life has become busier and my mind more preoccupied with schoolwork and my own life, well... it's wonderful. I'm so happy that, through everything, I have come to the 4 year mark with Okay! Musume Time and returned to celebrate another Cake Day.

If I thought that my 3rd year Anniversary with this blog was a big thing, then I feel like I'm making an even bigger to-do out of this years anniversary; it feels special. Then again, this blog is special. It's my baby boo and I love it!

So of course I wouldn't miss the Cake Day of my blog for the world, because damnit, it's my blog and I want to celebrate this day with you all! Everyone who reads what I write is just as much a part of this blog as I am, so it isn't just a day to celebrate 4 years of this blog being around, but also 4 years of you guys being here, supporting whatever terrible things I write and for just giving me a chance to use my voice, to hear your voices, and also for being a part of this community. I would love to say that it was my pure passion for Idols and writing that kept me going this long, but I wouldn't be telling the whole truth, because it really is you guys I have to thank. Without your inspiration, comments or suggestions, I would probably not be sitting here today.

So, thank you. 4 years have gone by, and I hope 4 more pass as well in the future. Today, on my blog's beloved Cake Day, we shall celebrate together; let us celebrate the blog, the cake and, of course, the readers behind the screens.

Okay! Musume Time, OMEDETOU!!!

Now that the speech is over and done with, let's celebrate! It's time to GET YO CAKE ON!

First up... CHAYU!!!

I see Chayu's getting her Cupcake on for the Cake Day Bizarre...

But which one will she choose!? The yellow cake or the pink cake...?

Of course, it has to be the pink one!!!

Actually, I have my own cupcake to celebrate Cake Day Bizarre, so HA!!!

Oi now, you cheeky mare! This blog may have been around a while, but 20 years is 16 years too many!

Got cake? NO!!! But Chayu DOES have a few gifts for me right there, I see...~

What is it with these Idols and claiming this blog is 20!? Geez...

Still, at least they bring CAKE!

Ooooh, looks like we're gonna have a party! A MUSUME PARTY!

My ever-reliable Honey-bo, breakin' out the wine for us adults! Good to know you celebrate in style, Honey~

Chayu's bringing the balloons 'cause you can't have a party without the balloons!

Meanwhile, Gaki comes with a delivery of even more cake... and herself!!!

CHAYU! That is NOT what the Balloons are used for!!!

This Cake Day Bizarre would not be complete without moar CAKE!!! Gimme some o' that cake, Dayashi!

Mayu: "Do you want some cake with your cake?"
Paruru: "Indeed I do!"

Cake be GOOD!

As long as cake is involved girls, I don't care what you dress up as during whatever season.

That said, why not just dress up as CAKE!? Gives me a Sugar Rush!!!

Goodness gracious me, even Arashi have come to the Bizarre! Didn't know it was that popular!

Sho thanks me for the cake, I simply smash it in his pretty face as a 'You're welcome'~

Hows about some cake from the group I fail to boycott?

Look who finally turned up with her share of the cake! Come on in, Sakuranbo, you don't have to feel ashamed!

Dayashi: "Do I see... CAKE!?"

I think Riho's more excited than I am at the prospect of cake!

And gracing us with her presence once again is Chayu, bringing with her... well, CAKE!!!

Oh look, just in time! Juice=Juice have brought us all cake, though Uemuu doesn't look too happy at the prospect of sharing it with me...

Good thing KanaTomo came along with extra snacks, then!

Risako is excited for cake! And why wouldn't she be!?

S/mileage went a little overboard though and decorated theirs in their image... girls, it's MY blogs cake day...!!!

I think the boys have realised that the cake is three candles too short as well... thanks for clarifying, lads! ^^

That face worries me...

and yet I still trust the cake itself!

Oh wow, that cake sure does look delicious! Can I share some?

Omnomnomnomnom...

And yet, Koha refuses to share her cake with me ;^;

But no matter what, you can always rely on this fact;

THERE WILL ALWAYS BE CAKE!!!

And where would this Cake Day Bizarre be without a little music!? HIT THE DECKS, DJ!

Because... PAPANCAKE! All cake is good cake~

BECAUSE TODAY IS THE BIRTHDAY! YEEEEAH!

... Nothing beats a classic ;)

But nothing can beat AAA and their Birthday ballad, either!

And yet... nothing can beat the greatness that is Arashi no Yoru ni...

I miss Sea*A...

No matter what though, let's all have a SUPER Happy Birthday together and many more after!

Thank you for celebrating with me. I love you <3

Chiima~
