[Music Selection] January '16: Music & PV's

'Music Selection' (tentative title) is set to be a monthly series where Angry (of Selective Hearing) and myself deliver unto you all our favourite songs and/or PV's of the month, with some short spiel as to why we enjoyed the song and/or video, as well the reason as to why the Hell it is on our list for the month gone by.

And, whilst this list will generally contain songs released from the month gone by, we may take a little U-turn and choose to look back at an old favourite or three from a different time period, or even a different era, if we dig something up and enjoy it throughout the month.
 Cause that's how we ROLL!

Posts for both parties will be crossed over from here and Selective Hearing, so if you wish to read Angry's own January Selection, please head over to SH (if she has posted, that is~), and read on, little ducklings!

This is a general topic of fun and to be taken lightly. We do not intend to offend with our song choices, nor do we hope to annoy people by not taking interest in any song that may not have featured in this list. We are simply listing what we have enjoyed.

Okay, so, we done? Good, cause I need to get this ball rolling (finally) and begin the actual Selection Process. LET'S GOOOOOOO!

(So this is very very late, given I was supposed to post it way back on Feb 5th, however life called and duties had to be met. Still, I'm gonna do this, cause I can! Let's roll on through!)

Okay, so let's be honest here; January was, for me, a rather 'meh' month when it came to its music and PV's. It was dry. Dull. Bland. Tasteless. Lots of fun adjectives to describe January, because yeah, it was all of the above, and it bored me, save a few beautiful graces that flew down from the Heavens and entertained me.

Honestly though, my stony soul hurts a little bit when music does not please me, which makes the songs and MV's that I did find enjoyable all the more sweeter and beautiful, if you ask me.

Anyway, before I get carried away with nonsensical sentences, let's head into my January Music Picks, of which I have no specific order. Enjoy~

Hello? Please Leave A Message at the Beep! - 4TE's 'Leave A Message' Review!

All thoughts and opinions are completely my own to make. If you do not like what is said, you know that you do not have to read. Thank you.

"Leave a message at the tone..."

*Beep!

"Hey guys, I'm just calling to let you know that when you feel the need to take a break from your cute sounding J-pop, why not try something a little more edgy? I feel that it might be well worth your time to tickle your taste buds, and have a go at some 4TE... Just thought I'd let you know."

If you have yet to hear from 4TE, then I do believe it's high time you check them out right now! Based all the way in America, Jenny D, Micchi, Chii and Mei are all passionate about music and Japan, and have collectively come together through the wonder that is the internet to create 4TE, a group who create original Japanese pop content, and not just for fun; this is also a professional endeavour, and you can see that in their music and video production.

I've talked about 4TE previously, back in January 2015 when they debuted with their single MORE / Ippo Zutsu, a cuter, more poppy sound that hooked and awed me, not just in its quality, but also with how fun it was. Needless to say, I am pleased that once again, 4TE reached out to me and asked if I would like to review their latest song release, Leave A Message.

And yes, leave a message, I shall! Let the tone play!

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep~

Release Date: January 7th, 2016

Are You Ready to Relax in the City with REMOTE GIRL☆? 'Relax in The City' by REMOTE GIRL☆ ~PV Review~

All thoughts and opinions within this post are completely my own, and no one else's. I believe in the right to speak your mind, and here I speak mine. If you do not like what I say, that is fine, I do not expect anyone to agree with me, however please do respect my opinion. If you respect my opinion, then I shall respect yours, but do not expect acceptance of your opinion and then disregard the opinions of others. Thank you.

Within our fandom of Idols and all that is adorable, a part of this fandom is made up of coverists; fans who sing or dance along to the tracks made by their favourite artists and groups to share with the rest of the community. I admit, I am one of those coverists; it's fun to get together with others who love these songs, and to create something amazing together. When you've created a successful fan cover, it can become the best feeling ever, right next to the feeling of successfully writing a blog post.

For the group REMOTE GIRL☆ however, it's not just about singing a song that already exists, but about paying homage to the original in their own distinct way, and with their latest cover, pay homage and create their own version of the product is just what they did!

Compromised of three members, REMOTE GIRL☆ brings together 4TE's very own Chii (who shares my nickname, whoo~) and Jenny, who has just debuted with REMOTE GIRL☆, as well as the talented producer of 4TE, PromWolf. With a focus on covering various J-Pop songs and turning them into more J-Rock styled arrangements, REMOTE GIRL☆ has a different sound to that of 4TE's, but allows us to see the diverse style of Chii, Jenny and PromWolf as singers and composers. As of now, the group has six songs under REMOTE GIRL☆, with one of those songs being an original composition.

For now, however, we will be talking about the latest cover from REMOTE GIRL☆, and the first to introduce their latest member, Jenny. So, without further ado, let's take a look at REMOTE GIRL☆'s take on Perfume's latest single A-side, Relax in The City.

Let's take this One Step at a Time, then Maybe You can Give me More! with 4TE's 'MORE / Ippozutsu' Single Review

All thoughts and opinions regarding the group, music or visuals reviewed within this post are my own, and no one else's. Please respect my opinion and I, in return, will respect yours. Thank you for your understanding~

It is safe to say that I like different types of music; growing up in a family where musical tastes were extremely diverse, from Eighties pop to Green Day, Rave to Michael Jackson, I came to appreciate various sounds and different styles, and even though Japanese music is the most prominent sound in my system as of right now, I still enjoy different kinds of music no matter its country of origin, or who sings it - if I enjoy it, then I can appreciate it no matter what. For me and many others, Music is Universal.

And for the American based Japanese pop group 4TE, this is also the case. Breaking down the language barrier and making their 2015 debut, this America-based Japanese pop quartet are ready to take on the New Year and all it has to offer! Are you ready for them, too?

For those curious to know, 4TE (pronounced Forte/for-tay) are a Japanese inspired pop group based in the Southwest of the United States of America, and is made up of four members: Micchi, Jenny, Mei and Chii, who all strive to create, distribute and perform Japanese pop music for everyone to enjoy. Their management team, however, is based in Canada, with both managers aiming to spread the idea of 4TE and what they provide to the industry on an international level.

The group, who have been working together for over a year to make their debut Double A-side a reality, have all overcome the obstacles of living in different locations, and hope to reach fans of Japanese music with their sound, all the while using the Internet as a platform to bring not only themselves, but also their dream, together. And so, after all of their hard work and effort, the girls are ready to make their debut this year, sharing with us all their love of music and Japanese pop in the form of their debut single release, MORE / Ippozutsu! Are you ready to become involved in what 4TE have to offer this 2015?
